Assuming, Beason has a patch. Who will be the player on Defense to fill the role left by Trell??? I was listening to Paul Dittino. And, he said that it wouldn't be JPP. Who do you guys believe it will be?
there is a contingency of team-mates who feel this guy will dog it once he signs a fat contract ... hardly the type you want wearing a "C" on the jersey ...
Honestly I would hope this is his last season here.I don't trust him.He really hasn't done much for me to believe in his ability to warrant a contract that exceeds 12 million a year since his first season. He's shown himself to be a hot and cold player at best who too commonly shows up when the games don't matter and is too reliant on physical gifts.I hope Damontre,Odighizuwa, and to a lesser extent Selvie do enough to give the Giants enough comfort to let JPP walk.I think he will burn us if we give him a full contract.

Unfortunately it's hard to disagree with this. He hasn't sniffed the level of dominance that was on display in 2011. This past year was misleading IMO, despite numbers comparable to 2011. 35% of his tackles and over 60% of his sacks came over the last month of the season against the likes of Jax, Tennessee, Washington, and St. Louis. He doesn't seem to have grown as a pass rusher and is still fairly one dimensional in that respect: if he doesn't beat his man with a bullrush or straight athleticism he doesn't beat him. He's solid against the run but does that warrant 12+ per year?
Add in today's comments from Tucker and you have every reason to question giving him a contract that eats up a nice slice of the salary cap pie. Hopefully the reports from Tucker are either overblown or, if true, serve to motivate him. He still has a season here to develop and assume a leadership role that will be badly needed on the D. If he does those things it's a no brainer, you make him a cornerstone of the franchise. But if the production continues to be inconsistent and these questions of motivation linger then his days here are probably numbered.
Hopefully Spagnuolo can light a fire under his ass, get him to see how high his ceiling truly is if he's willing to work for it. I hope that's the case, because from a pure talent perspective he's a rare breed who can take over a game like Strahan did. It would be a shame to have to let a guy with that kind of talent walk because he doesn't have the head and heart to maximize his potential.
franchise JPP again and should until we find a suitable replacement in the draft. And given that we should stop sucking highly unlikely. We need a 1st round DE to replace JPP. I think we should re-sign him though.
I do not understand why people think JPP is a leader...better yet someone worth paying big time money to. He has had ONE good season. 2011. '12 & '13 he was useless and for the first 11 games of 2014 he was useless. He padded his stats against pathetic Titan, Redskins and Jaguar teams in '14.
Leadership? Are you kidding me. I do not respect a man who bullies his teammate. Sooner JPP is gone the happier I will be. Greedy and lazy. Remember before '14 when everyone wondered why JR wasn't trying to resign Nicks? Nicks did very little with the colts and is now a number 5 wr. Let JPP play the Tag. If he leaves next year, good.
we had another Julius Peppers in JPP. Hard to figure what we have now. Appears to have the natural talent but the attitude and desire has yet to surface. Maybe this is the year.
2) Prince
3) Hankins
4) JPP
Those 3 are already captains. Teams typically have 5. Cruz is the other one.
Jenkins is probably a decent guess for #5

How can Beason be a lock when he never plays?
I'd be surprised if it's JPP too.
And I agree with Randy in CT. Who cares, just play
