@TomRock_Newsday: Am told Will Beatty just went in for surgery on torn pec at HSS. Recovery said to be 5 months. That's back on the field around November.
the Canadian kid has a major opportunity in front of him. If indeed they go with Pugh and Flowers as tackles, Schwartz as RG, then please God let this kid beat out Jerry.

plug him in at left guard and have pugh and flowers play the tackle positions.
This sucks, but it could be much worst. We are lucky this happened now and not game 1 of preseason. This will give us some time to work with flowers and groom him for the LT position.
"Taylor tore his left pectoral muscle while bench pressing during the offseason conditioning program last week at the team's facility. A Browns spokesman said the surgery ''went well'' and the 335-pound Taylor is resting comfortably at the Cleveland Clinic." Link - ( New Window )
how many players, over the course of the past few years.
And this pec injury is the fault of the training staff for teaching poor technique (when you would expect a spate of these injuries), rather than muscle instability from the player.
And maybe, just maybe, we'll be pleasantly surprised by some of our other young O-Linemen - Donnelly, Bamiro, Hart, Jones - or maybe even someone like Mosley will finally live up to his potential. Who knows?
was a damn good LT at Syracuse. It's his natural position. I think he could do well there. If so, the battle will be at LG. They could move Richburg back where he played last year and try Jones at center.
Would allow Flowers to use his athleticism and nastiness in the run game more at RT. Jerry might be better suited for LG than RG.
Problem now is that they are really extra dependent on Schwartz being healthy from day 1 of camp all the way through the season. That's the equivalent of counting on Beason at LB.

His injury happened May 11th.
So Beatty will play five or six games, max. Realistically, four games is probable. You have to IR him at that point.

B.) Its May, there is still time to find another Guard to sign
c.) He won't miss the entire season
d.) Its only one position on the line, even hough there is the cascading impact of moving people all around.
E.) Monkeys might also fly out of my ass
Nothing is over...certainly not on May 20.
And fuck all you whiny bastards getting off on this shit.
Phil Taylor played eight games in 2012 after tearing his pec. Not five.
Still, big investment. You used PUP or short-term IR, I mean, it isn't good any way you slice it.
then
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH
is responsible for this mishap
