Please let DeGrom (4-4, 3.21 ERA) be the stopper! He is opposed by Jaime Garcia, who is starting for the first time since undergoing thoracic outlet surgery in July.
If he doesn't work out, maybe the Cardinals would be willing to take one of Niese/Gee/Colon out of our hands as their no 5 starter for their stretch run?

Yup. He's really been the stopper two games in a row too. Love to see that he's back on track.
Agreed. deGrom has the mental part down much better than Wheeler, who reminds me Strasburg a little in that respect. Still, Wheeler in the lower part of the rotation is nothing to complain about.
Not even asking you directly but Why would anybody be comparing deGrom to Wheeler? There is no doubt by anyone alive deGrom is leagues better. Wheeler is all about potential unfulfilled at this point.

looks fantastic. Unlike Wheeler whom I think is overrated by the fanbase, I think deGrom is 100% legit, early struggles aside.

Wheeler is a fantastic no 2 pitcher and he could be our no 3 or no4 in this rotation

I mentioned Wheeler because he's discussed as if he belongs with the Harvey/deGrom group and he really doesn't. Maybe something will turn on and he'll improve significantly but I'm actually ranking Wheeler 5th amongst the "young" arms in the system if asked. I think his name is much bigger than his game so far in his career. I would have 100% for trading Wheeler for a young big bat before the injury. The fact they discussed him with the Giants likely means they feel the same way (though I have no idea what their target was, maybe Brandon Crawford?).

Wheeler is nowhere near a "fantastic no 2 pitcher" at this point. This statement is exactly what I mean. Maybe one day he becomes that but he was 54th in baseball in FIP last year and he couldn't last late into games. His name might make him "fantastic #2" results say otherwise.
And one of those games went 14 innings. So more like 2 runs in 4 3/4 games
Please dump Niese. He's cooked.

I think you could make the case Wheeler was discussed along the likes of Harvey and deGrom when they were first breaking in but I dont think anybody would compare Wheeler to them today. I think its pretty obvious that Harvey and deGrom are two of the best pitchers in baseball and most players are never going to become THAT good. Anyways. Just my opinion. I still think Wheeler is going to be solid pitcher. He might be more AJ Burnett than Harvey, but Im fine with that.
Rotator cuff inflammation and latest update was it was still bothering him as of 5/11, I haven't seen anything since.
4-0
The Mets go as Duda goes
Nobody this season
Makes no sense. Choked away the game Monday??? If anything WE choked away the game to let it be tied in the first place. Harvey pitches 8 scoreless and YOU choked away the game? OK.
Lol at "a real team". You guys got shut down by the only two decent pitchers you faced this series. Lucky you didn't see Thor.
Gee, thanks for the backhanded compliments.
He is who he is. a utility guy who should start once or twice a week.
He needs the work..
