I know its incredibly difficult to make a trade right now, but are there teams that have 3 or 4 really good tackles, the might be willing to trade 1 for a draft pick? Giants will have a ton of $$ in Free Agency next year, so I'd be willing to part with a 2nd or 3rd rounder for a good player.
Or maybe a late cap casualty cut, post June 1st?
Thoughts?
Ugh - wanted him rather than David Wilson. Good call.
I think Tackle.
There is no reason to assume that they are done adding.
They are going to have to make do with this
It sad that one player at a key position can impact the team this way, but it is what it is.
What a ridiculous post. No effort to sign quality free agents? How do you know? Are you in contact with the agents? What free agents would you have signed? Which of these "experts" were you referring to? Flowers did not allow a sack last year and allowed only 2 pressures despite going up against the likes of Randy Gregory, Eli Harrold, and Mario Edwards just to name a few. How is he still the GM? Perhaps the two Superbowls that he has won in his 8 years here. Also he is coming off a great 2014 draft in which the Giants already have 3 starters from including Beckham who is already a top 5 receiver in the NFL. Also Bromley, Williams, Berhe, and Bennett Jackson might also develop into starters.
The draft should have been better? The Giants got three first round talents in Flowers, Collins, and Odighizuwa
Probably could get him for the veteran minimum & that is the only way I'd sign him.
IMO it has a lot to do with the Bucs organization. They are terrible. They sign all of these players that were studs before they got there. All of them turn out terrible in Tampa. All of these players can't just all the sudden get bad. Revis, Goldson, Michael Johnson, Anthony Collins, Alterraun Verner, Eric Wright, Carl Nicks.
There's so much wrong here.

It's funny...I really wanted the Giants to sign Collins prior to the 2014 draft, if for no other reason than to make it less likely that they'd reach for an OT early. I said so in a number of threads.
I couldn't believe how terrible he was in Tampa Bay, though.
Mosley was drafted to be a guard. I don't think the team sees him as a OT (he may not even be on the team when camp breaks)

I have no faith that the Giants will now do what is needed. No effort to sign quality free agents and a draft that, will let say should have been better. Using a first round pick on a right tackle, Flowers, make no sense; many expects will tell you that Flowers is not a left tackle. No faith in Jerry the GM, how is it that he is still the GM?
Posts like this suck shit.
It assumes that you have a better grasp of FA and drafting than those in charge and that because people didn't do what you wanted them to do, it is wrong.
Just an absolutely horrific stand to take.
As for the last few years, they have spent high picks on OL 3 years in a row and all 3 are expected to start. Again, where is the problem?
there is a lot of practice and coaching gonna happen between now and Game 1.
Have some faith in the coaching staff.
never rule out signing a vet LT, either.
