but if you want to watch one to get a taste, go with Road Warrior. Its not the origin, but its the most relevant to the new film. Its also the best of the 3 by far, in my opinion.
Mad Max and the Road Warrior will give you some appreciation for the backstory that is really just glossed over in this one, but as Greg notes there is not a ton of continuity.
That said, I award you a major violation for not having seen them. The Road Warrior is perhaps the greatest action movie ever made! I find you GUILTY!

2D. Always do 2D UNLESS the movie was filmed in 3D (like Avatar, Hugo, etc.). If it was converted in post-production, then it is never worth the extra money.
However, I am perplexed as to why you want to see Fury Road but don't want to see the others. Road Warrior in particular is fantastic and the first movie is no slouch either.
