NFT: Supergirl pilot leak

So last week, CBS released a trailer for their series Supergirl. The trailer had a little bit of stuff to look interesting, but it really just felt like "The Devil Wears Prada" with superpowers. Even better, it felt like the "Black Widow" trailer/SNL sketch if it wasn't trying to be satirical. I feel like this show has the potential to set back efforts for female superhero stand-alones by 5-10 years.

Anyway, the show's pilot leaked online last night, six months before the show is set to air. Interesting, the episode is supposedly in high quality with full HD and no watermark, so it's not inconceivable to say it's a finished state.

Anyone brave enough to check it out and tell us just how bad it was?

I don't think it will set it back the way you fear....

...if only because I don't think anyone will watch it and likely get canceled before the first season is finished airing. It looks that bad.

I watched it. It's not super. It's in the same style as Arrow and Flash, but with a definite feminine sensibility. Female hero, female nemesis, love interests, sister stuff, etc. I guess I would have to see where the first few episodes go before truly passing judgment, but I doubt I'd be a regular viewer like I am with Arrow and Flash.

the trailer. Especially the normal trailer not the 6+ minute one. I dont think it looks great either though. Im a fan of Flash/arrow so im willing to give this a shot. That said you cant really base that much off a pilot, they are often very different then the actual show. Although now that i think of it the Arrow/Flash pilots werent all that different.

are geared towards satisfying the 21st century teenage girl. Yes that applies to many men at various ages and sadly some non-teenage women, but it shouldn't satisfy. Pass.

i'm sure they leaked it to gauge how the show can be saved or give themselves a back door to pull the plug.

Just a putrid turd of a show.
