Slade becomes the first Yankees' first-round position player to play for the team outside of September since..... Derek Jeter.
Should be a billboard because it's the most ridiculous thing I ever seen
What's funny is both papers said how the mets were going to run this city for the next five years and now two months later they are saying Pineda is better then Harvey... Laughable!!!!!!!
Yea 9 runs which means they shot their load for the rest of the series and will score 2 runs today and lose again. They will be under .500 by this time next week. Which is disgraceful being that this team was 9 games over just 11 days ago.
More on Joe's choice last night to pull Didi, who's hitting .364 over last 7 days, instead of Drew, who's .238 over last 7 & made final out
DFA Drew and give a kid a shot.
It's time to bring up some of the youngsters, otherwise the die-hard fans will lose interest. I am not expecting much this year anyway, let's see what the young kids can do.

Buster Olney did a segment last week, when the Marlins shit stain GM hired himself as manager, and basically said that the front offices around baseball are now telling the managers more and more who to play, and where to play them. He said it's something that managers would never have allowed before, but times have changed and teams are managing games with their computers and many mangers have little say in who plays and where.
Combine that with the comments made by Cashman during the off season and it's becoming clearer that Girardi is allowing Cashman to make the calls. And if that's the case, it's freaking absolutely pathetic.
A career-high, 7-scoreless from Montgomery and his night comes to an end. 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 Ks - 69 pitches 57 strikes #OhMy - DA
I agree with you. Joe does a great job in managing the bullpen. However the unwillingness in using youth boggles my mind. I don't understand the love for Drew. It would make much better sense if Drew was on in his first year of a 6 year 100 million dollar contract. The guy is on a 1 year 5 million contract. Last year they got rid of Roberts mid way thru the season. Maybe we have to wait until July for him to be DFA. Also the fact that Refsnyder who was aaa player of the week has not been brought up. The Marlins released Saltalamacia and the owe him 11 million on his contract. The Rays ate 7 million and released Balfour. Yet the Yanks that print money can't eat 5 million.
Column http://nyp.st/1PEwqwa Cashman tells me Gregorius, Drew, Rogers not being removed from roster, #Yankees have to heal themselves

many of them. But his bizarre unwillingness to use kids unless absolutely necessary is really unfortunate. Drew is fucking terrible. Drew should not be in the lineup regularly.

Dumping Drew is not a panic move. I'm not even sure dumping Didi is one, though he was a longer term investment. Drew is here on a one year and he was a low risk gamble from the outset. The biggest risk in that gamble was - and is - that the Yankees would wait too long to cut bait.
And 10 million total in one year to Drew and Capuano yet they can't be bothered to pony up the extra money to get Moncada signed? I'm not one to keep throwing a move (or lack of a move) in the front office's face but Yankee fans deserve to be angry about that for a long, long time. Such a god awful sequence of decisions.
