Chicago took a 3-1 lead with about 13 minutes left but Anaheim struck back with 3 goals in 37 seconds to flip the script and go ahead 4-3. Fantastic game, but we want that series to go long as Rangers fans
to watch and last nights game wss no different. For the Hawks to come back after giving up 3 goals in 37 seconds about halfway through the 3rd, well, their an incredibly resilient, battle tested bunch.
don't be pulling a Tyler Seguin on us now showing up all hungover and shit. It's only Game 5 of the freakin Eastern Conference Finals we're talking about here...
but I find it hard to believe they can win a Cup rolling 4 D-men like this. Q has to put more faith in his 3rd pairing - he's basically rolling two Stu Bickle's out there every night.
Timmonen is absolutely awful and completely forked. He's trying to shelter him as much as he can and put him out there as little as possible in leverage situations but Keith and Hjalmarsson are logging major minutes and Seabrook and Oduya aren't far behind. He obviously doesn't trust Cumiskey either.
This is why if the Hawks can find a way to get past Anaheim and we get past TB, I'd feel really good about our chances. The Ducks are going to keep wearing them down with their physicality and those D-men are just going to run out of steam.
Anaheim would be a really, really tough matchup for us.
not only will those Top 4 wear down, but they don't seem to be getting involved in the offense either as that would burn too much energy.
I just find it hard to believe this approach is better than trusting your third pair with 13-14 minutes per 60.
Ducks should win this series. But regardless, I think the East winner takes the Cup. While the Ducks have a little more scoring threat than the Caps, Anderson is no Holtby back there. TBL and NYR have too much speed and scoring power IMO... and whoever wins this series is going to have been battled tested twice already too.
Kaner...can't keep him down
