I need some advice on a new cell phone and I am no expert on them. These are for work mostly but also personal use. I don't like large phones. I have only used Driod smartphones to this point but I don't have an objection to switching. I need good battery life, and quick processing. My uses are in order of priority:
1-email
2-text
3-phone
4-web browsing
5-camera
I don't use it for much of anything else. My options are:
HTC One M9
Iphone 6
Iphone 5s
Yes, those are my only options and there is no difference in cost between them. I am leaning towards the I5 because it is the smallest, but it also has by far the smallest screen. I like everything about the HTC except its size, I think it may simply be too big.
If you have used any of them give me some likes dislikes, if you have advice let me know. Downside is once I pick I am stuck with it for 2 years, no returns if I don't like it after a couple of days.
The battery life doesn't seem so hot out of the box, but there are apps and settings you can try to help maximize it. I haven't bothered with them yet because I tend to charge it mid day (and it charges insanely fast).
THE LG G3 and G4 are also great phones.
Never been a fan of the simplicity of Iphones, and the shoddy plastic build quality on the Samsung Galaxy devices.
And I do like some Apple products, but the Iphone 6 is a dud imo..
Almost all smartphone batteries drain quickly, more than you'd expect them to. There's really no getting around it.
If you have no interest in customization, just get an iphone
Better battery life than the 5, bigger screen but not too big.

Verizons version of Motorola's Nexus 6, with the typical Verizon Droid warranty.

Thanks. Seems like that is a couple of strikes against the Iphone. The Motorola and the LG are not options for me. Only the 2 Iphones and the HTC. I have never had an Iphone or an HTC product. I have only had experience with LG, Motorola and Samsung cell phones. Mostly good with Motorola and LG, nothing good with Samsung. This is why though I need advice because I have no personal experience with HTC or Apple phones.
My prior (and first) experience with a Samsung phone was so bad that at the time I felt there was nothing that could make me own one again. In fact I applied my hatred of it towards all Android phones and started endorsing iPhones. The S6 is just a different animal though. It's not plastic, and the glass feels and looks exceptional.
The M9 is supposed to have outstanding speakers for a phone, but the S6's speakers are the best I've personally tried. I wouldn't listen to music through them frequently, but for speakerphone and Skype calls it's a nice benefit.
Also, it's just a simple phone that will most likely meet your needs.
