Gotta get this win. LGM!
I hope he gets game ready ASAP. His bat was sorely missed not to mention he seemed to call great games for this pitching staff.
No 7, 8, and 9 are typically automatic outs in the lineup.

Catchers just seem to always take longer. I think it's because there's so much mental stuff they have to worry about defensively. Would imagine an offensive player who profiles to be a similar "know the pitcher" type of hitter would have even that much more on their plate.

He hasn't looked as lost as TDA did when he first came up. The Mets asked a lot of him when TDA went down. I will be glad when TDA gets back but this experience will likely be real helpful in Plawecki's long term development.

Plawecki just hasn't hit enough in the majors (yet).

I agree with this. He actually wasn't really hitting in AAA when he got called up anyway. I think if he goes down and works on some things he's going to catch fire and come back at some point with a whole other world of confidence.
Add him to the very long list of pitchers that credit Warthen for making them a better player.
deStrikeout
Its so weird because they all seem like they can hit a little too.

I've never seen a bunch of pitchers worse at bunting than the mets. JFC

Degrom should always be swinging. Dude can hit. It's like having a DH when he pitches. I hate watching him bunt.
He doesn't pay attention at all. AT ALL.
luckily it means this will be his final season.

desperately need a new manager, but Collins will probably play out his contract

Unfortunately at the cost of THIS season. He should have been gone last season.
Sorry if this was mentioned earlier in the thread
Also Matz pitching now
F U Collins!
First with the clutch sac fly and then with the game winner.
Oh well. I'd look to go after a Zobrist if Wright isn't coming back and we'll be close to whole again.
Sources: #Mets insured Wright contract. Once he misses 60 days, team would recoup 75 percent of contract while he is unable to play.

Zobrist is 34 and just got off the DL himself.

Wright couldn't be a part of this lineup. Some of the bats are finally coming around. Have to think with TDA and Wright we would have had a really nice lineup going right now.

He'd be a nice bandaid. Not a permanent solution. Better than Cambell/Muno thats for sure.
Parnell and Black might actually make it back and reinforce the pen soon. Mejia will be back in a month. Pitching is gold.
TDA is coming back. If Wright isn't coming back trade for a bat. If he is coming back... great.
Then Nimmo-Lagares-Conforto OF, Duda at 1b and TDA at C
Flores is really starting to get some nice RBI's. If he can get himself to consistently be a .280 plus hitter and with his power and rbi's that would be sweet.

That would have been great but he broke his middle finger 12 days ago. He's going to be out until at least the all-star break.

If DW isn't coming back any time soon I like Murphy at 3rd with Herrera at 2nd and keeping Flores at ss.

Has that been only 12 days ago? LOL I have a lot going on right now so I guess that must be why but it feels like it has been much longer.
Agreed. None of the backup 3B options are prospects that we should be giving constant ABs too. Let's shuffle the hot hand in and out and play whomever hits. Next man up!
Surprising news too. I'd like to give Black another 2-3 minor league outings and Parnell another 4-5, and if they are looking good, let's bring them back to the big club.
