Searched on Wynn and Trainia, but did not see this -

Pat Trainia writes -

Quote:
Wynn, an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Richmond last year, was initially a college defensive tackle who made the switch to defensive end for the Giants and did not disappoint once he got on the field. Although Wynn took the fewest snaps (168, per Pro Football Focus) of the Giants’ defensive ends last year, he had the second-best run defense grade (2.5) on the team, behind Pierre-Paul. Taking things a step further, in the last six weeks of the season, which is when Wynn was activated, he actually was the Giants’ best run defender, logging an 8.9 percent run-game stop percentage, which topped Pierre-Paul’s 8.1 percent.'

as Carson said "I did not know that"

I think they found a player in Wynn

His measurables as far as his "explosion" numbers were outstanding. 31 bench, 34 vert, 9' 5" broad jump. That's 74.5 combined and they say 75 is the "magic number" that separates the elite. His 40 was 4.97 at the combine but 4.7 at his pro day. That's a bigger improvement than you usually see and makes you wonder if he messed that up at the combine. Bottom line though he came from a "small school", switched positions and still made an impact as a rookie. Hope year two is great.
As is said for the rest of the DL

That came on at the end of last year, it will be interesting to see what Wynn can do against some solid competition. The DL went up against some horrible OL'd to end the season last year, and all of their stats went up because of it.

I am not sure if it is because they truly got better, or if it is because of who they were going up against.
Wild Stuff.

There'll be some tough competition at DE this camp. I'm assuming they'll keep 5 on the active roster.
that's interesting. Will be good to see how he looks this year.

A full year of NFL weight training and he might be something.
ill keep saying it

the D looked better when Wynn got on the field and Kiwi got off it. Wynn is starting this season and should be a nice upgrade over Kiwi's 2013-2014 play. He looked steady last year.
Wynn?

This guy made a few plays against some bad teams.....I just don't see the love affair with this guy.....he's a rotational player, a breather, nothing more...

I disagree. Small sample size but the thing that impressed me about him was not some jaw-dropping sack, pass rush ability, or specific play, but rather that he was consistently in good position, and very stout against the run. And he did have a couple of standout plays as well, specifically the INT. Nothing wrong with showing some optimism on a guy who came in and did a (noticeably) good job at DE.

Optimism? From the Dumpster? Not a chance.

on this team is an all pro....I have no idea how we lose games....

I was just commenting on some who think he should be a starter....he is not starter material in my eyes.....won't be the first time I was wrong....I recall one time in 2013, when I was....
