Searched on Wynn and Trainia, but did not see this -
Pat Trainia writes -
Wynn, an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Richmond last year, was initially a college defensive tackle who made the switch to defensive end for the Giants and did not disappoint once he got on the field. Although Wynn took the fewest snaps (168, per Pro Football Focus) of the Giants’ defensive ends last year, he had the second-best run defense grade (2.5) on the team, behind Pierre-Paul. Taking things a step further, in the last six weeks of the season, which is when Wynn was activated, he actually was the Giants’ best run defender, logging an 8.9 percent run-game stop percentage, which topped Pierre-Paul’s 8.1 percent.' |
as Carson said "I did not know that"
I am not sure if it is because they truly got better, or if it is because of who they were going up against.
Weird, wild stuff.
I disagree. Small sample size but the thing that impressed me about him was not some jaw-dropping sack, pass rush ability, or specific play, but rather that he was consistently in good position, and very stout against the run. And he did have a couple of standout plays as well, specifically the INT. Nothing wrong with showing some optimism on a guy who came in and did a (noticeably) good job at DE.

This guy made a few plays against some bad teams.....I just don't see the love affair with this guy.....he's a rotational player, a breather, nothing more...

Optimism? From the Dumpster? Not a chance.
I was just commenting on some who think he should be a starter....he is not starter material in my eyes.....won't be the first time I was wrong....I recall one time in 2013, when I was....
