NFT: Amazon allowance.

wgenesis123 : 5/28/2015 9:26 am
Got an Email from Amazon about setting up an allowance for someone you would give gift cards. I pay child support for my 18 year old daughter but its not even lunch money. Its $8.15 per week. Thinking about setting up one for my daughter for say $100.00 per month. What do you guys think of this Amazon idea for of course Amazon to make money. I know my daughter would love this idea.

How about you put that money
spike : 5/28/2015 9:27 am : link
In an investment account
For my daughter, no way. The state would take that money from her.
wgenesis123 : 5/28/2015 9:31 am : link
They might take this once they get wind of it.
My daughter has behavior issues resulting from her mother
wgenesis123 : 5/28/2015 9:41 am : link
drinking alcohol during pregnancy. The state took custody of Grace a couple months ago and have labelled her Bi-polar and retarded. They drugged her to get her to fail an IQ test and she still passed, so they broke her glasses and gave her the test again and she failed. This granted stae and federal money for her. Now they plan on buying her a house and paying someone 24/7 to watch her. Its crazy.
gosh that's a lot
spike : 5/28/2015 9:45 am : link
I'm sorry your daughter and you have to go through all of this.
Thank you Spike but everyone has their problems.
wgenesis123 : 5/28/2015 9:48 am : link
I just am looking for a way to provide my daughter some spending money that the state doesn't have say so over.

Wait, what?

How do you know this? Do you have evidence? Can she live on her own or are the results something you/she wants?

You're right that is crazy af.
When you say "they"
Matt M. : 5/28/2015 10:25 am : link
who are you referring to? Who drugged her and broke her glasses? Who, exactly, has custody of her at this point?
what state is this?
mattlawson : 5/28/2015 10:37 am : link
I would hate the fact that Amazon would make money.

P.S This thread is weird.
I don't even..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/28/2015 12:13 pm : link
know what advice to give except to agree with Jon. This thread is VERY weird.
The state is PA.
wgenesis123 : 5/28/2015 12:45 pm : link
Grace was born with alcohol and other drugs in her system and suffered withdrawal as a newborn. Had to give her Phenobarbital for about 6 months to ween her off it. She has had problems from birth and can not be left alone. Her behavior is both anger and destructive. I myself have a spare bedroom and would love to have her here with me. I can't get any help from the state in pursuing that option. Lehigh County had custody when they broke her glasses to fail the IQ test. This thread did get much more complicated than I had intended and I am barely scratching the surface of the issues.
Had to be PA...

She's better off, if it was Florida they would've broken her glasses AND kicked her in the uterus.

I don't know what to say about the Amazon question
Matt M. : 5/28/2015 1:21 pm : link
But, from everything else you've shared, it sounds like you need an attorney. If what you say is true AND verifiable, it sounds like you have an excellent case against the county/state.
It's a;so entirely possible
Matt M. : 5/28/2015 1:24 pm : link
you don't have all the facts or don't quite understand the full situation.

Yes. This was my first thought. I could certainly be wrong of course- if the information is coming from the daughter, he's only gotten one side of the story. As the saying goes, make like a tree and split. Or something, something lies somewhere in between.

It sounds...

like a Jerky Boys outtake.

It HAD to be the state. There is no way it was his daughter who has "behavior that is both anger and destructive"
Maybe he should hire Sol Rosenbloom

I would put the money into an account for a lwayer
montanagiant : 5/28/2015 1:34 pm : link
So you can fight to get custody of your child. That would be the best use of it, not her watching movies.

Good luck with this
It is like a bad movie plot..

"Goddamnit Jones, she beat the test after you drugged her? Get me agent Franklin"

"You know what to do, Franklin. Break her fucking glasses! She CANNOT pass that test or your ass is mine!"

I'm just trying to figure out which actor would be best at ordering the code red.
Did you order her glasses to be broken?
Jon : 5/28/2015 1:39 pm : link
YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT I DID!!!
Seems to me it would have saved the State time and money
Headhunter : 5/28/2015 1:39 pm : link
if they said she failed before they drugged her and broke her glasses. Doesn't sound like she would of asked for a retest
Sounds like that's the next part of Fatman's skit
jcn56 : 5/28/2015 1:40 pm : link
'Wait, so we drugged her, and broke her glasses and she still passed. Can't we just say she failed anyway? Do I have to do all the thinking for everyone around here?!'
I also don't understand- this is an 18yr old.
Cam in MO : 5/28/2015 1:41 pm : link
Doesn't "ward of the state" and child support all end once you're 18?
Actually..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/28/2015 1:42 pm : link
the next part was going to be another Sol Rosenbloom quote.

"My glasses broke and I can't see so well, Goddammit"
Solomon P Rosenbloom is the right lawyer for you

Deej : 5/28/2015 1:49 pm : link
did they break her glasses etc to get custody of her (evil) or did they do it because they had custody of her and getting her to low IQ status got her funding that they otherwise didnt have for her (murkier -- could be better than what would have otherwise happened).
Sol knows gross negligence when he sees it

They did it to get the funding. As to the drugs, that is done quite often to control children like Grace. Giving her the test while they had her all drugged up was was, well draw your own conclusions. I do know firsthand from talking to them that they were desparate to somehow get her to fail the test. My daughter claims they broke her glasses. I had to buy new glasses. They gave her the test while her glasses were broken. Last time we were in court Grace complained to the judge(or whatever they call them in Pa.) that she was not mentally retarded, that they tested her with no glasses, and no one disputed it.
I know I'm missing something but.....
kinard : 5/28/2015 2:11 pm : link
... if you as the father are willing and able to support your daughter (as it seems you are) why does Lehigh County have custody of your child?

And who pays $8.15 a week in child support? Seems kind of random....
Sounds like
spike : 5/28/2015 2:13 pm : link
You need to devote your money and energy to getting a good attorney and fight this whole system.

She's also a 18 yo adult, so no one should be controlling her anymore. It would be nice for you and her to stay at your home

so she didn't have any representation at a hearing with a magistrate(?) that was trying to determine if she was fit to take care of herself?
I had an attorney and that did not help.
wgenesis123 : 5/28/2015 2:17 pm : link
But now I have my own home with a room for Grace, so I want to try again. Problem is I have no way to take care of her while I am at work. Got to get that problem figured out first. Seems to me if they are willing to buy her a house and give her 24/7 babysitting than it would be cheaper for them to help me take care of her. I just don't believe they will do that. They lose that precious control that seems so important to them.
In PA they

(Kids for cash) but I feel there's a lot more to the story than just one failed IQ test.

More to the story? That was just for funding. Its not the story.
I guess it's the degree of her mental illness
spike : 5/28/2015 2:24 pm : link
that requires institutionalization ?
If that was just..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/28/2015 2:25 pm : link
for the funding, the real story HAS to involve Agent K and some black suits.
I could have used

the drug they gave her in High School & College, I might of passed more tests and gotten a real job

Sometimes it helps to talk about the shit in your life to people who do not know you. No one really knows me on BBI and for all the crap you get here, well people are really smart. Also at the tough moments they show they are good people too. This is the perfect place for this, no bravery here.
If you set up the account
Walt in MD : 5/28/2015 2:29 pm : link
and add $100 a month to it, would you stop sending the $8.15 in child support per week? I'm just curious, no offense meant, but how in the world do you pay $8 a week in child support? How is that even cost effective for them to track?
This smart guy...
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/28/2015 2:30 pm : link

Or, smuggle in a pair of contacts and petition to have the test retaken.

I don't understand the child support myself. They garnished my wages last month and asked for $17.30 per pay period. I get paid every two weeks so it works out to (oh shit) $8.65 per week. Guess I screwed that number up. But it all makes no sense to me. I would gladly pay more.
