Has anybody seen the new trailer for batman? This game is going to be ridiculous. I read an article this morning where the producer said it's by far the biggest game Rocksteady has ever made. That says a lot.

Anyone playing the Witcher? As a non RPG guy I'm really interested in giving it a shot. Someone talk me into it.

Recently replayed through the Uncharted games on playstation now. I forgot just how good those games are, particularly the third one.

I got Witcher 3
ConMan22 : 5/28/2015 11:19 am : link
played it for a few hours Sunday. I had played 2 and liked it, though it took a really long time to get into.

So far, not a fan of the combat (I'm coming from Dark Souls/Bloodborne, so maybe that's not a fair assessment).

I'm not wild about it yet, but it's okay; certainly going to give it a fair shot considering it took me a while to get into the last one.

I seriously feel like the souls games have borderline ruined other videogames for me...
I cannot

wait for Arkham Knight. It was the sole reason I bought an Xbox One.

That's my problem with most RPG's. The combat doesn't do it for me.
yeah it is pretty clunky
ConMan22 : 5/28/2015 11:31 am : link
but I'm sure it will get better once I get used to it. Maybe also powering up along the way will make it more fun.

In any case, the story is interesting if you can get into it (also took a while).

One complaint is that the text is reeeeally small so unless you play a few feet from your TV, its hard to read anything, some of which is probably important.

I heard the text thing will be patched, though...

been pretty disappointed with my PS4 the last 6 months. Just not enough titles to keep me busy.

So far I've played and enjoyed
Infamous
Assassins Creed Blackflag
Last of Us (Played this on ps3 too)
Wolfenstein
Watch Dogs
Far Cry 4
Evil Within

I also played MGS4 and that was enjoyable but was basically a demo. Bought Assassins Creed Unity but didn't enjoy that at all.
Witcher 3 is a pretty good game...

so far. I'm about 3-4 hours in, done about 5 or 6 side quests. It's a sprawling kinda world, you can go and just discover new things. The voice acting has been consistently good so far.

There are some real annoying parts of the game. "Targetting" items to pick up is often a real hassle. The text is really small, and sometimes the aiming is nearly impossible.

These are actually knitpicks though, because this game is really great in the ocean of nothingness that has been next gen game development so far.
I really like Witcher 3 so far
UConn4523 : 5/28/2015 12:04 pm : link
only about 3 hours in considering it ended up being nice out over the holiday weekend.

The tiny text does suck, any word on the patch date?

tomorrow. Picked it up for a little under 20 bucks from Best Buy. My backlog is pretty big right now. Can't wait for Batman to come out.

Haven't picked up Witcher. Waiting on a price drop for that and The Order. Also, for anyone who is thinking about The Crew. Save your money.

Is anyone good at NHL 15? Man, I suck at that game.
Ahhh and I thought I was the only

Who thought that text was small. But really enjoying the witcher so far.

I'd say Dragon Age, but it looks like you like FPS or action games. So, not really, sorry. I had high hopes for my PS4, but there's just no games.
I'm lvl 11 in Witcher 3

New combat system does take some time to get use to. The story telling in this is amazing though. Very intricate mixing of different quests and actual repercussions for decision you make (I freed a demon horse instead of killing it and it demolished a whole village)

Note to self: Kill Demon Horse.
I'm going to need an upgrade

before I jump into the Witcher. The box I put together back in 2011 has finally fallen behind the system requirements of current releases.

In the meanwhile, I'm almost through Pillars of Eternity, Sunless Sea remains intermittently interesting, and I'm due for another CK2 binge any day now.
Any tips on Bloodborne before I dive into it this weekend?
LawrenceTaylor56 : 5/28/2015 4:03 pm : link
From my understanding and some people I talked with it's a great game. On the other hand people say it's one of the hardest and most challenge games ever. To the point that they couldn't even beat the first boss.

Trying to gauge how I should approach this

Just be patient and don't try to run through areas; move slowly & deliberately, move the camera around as you go to check your blind spots (they love hiding enemies behind corners and objects). Running in or rushing will usually wind up in a death.

I'd tell you to walk around in new areas with your shield always up, but there are no (viable) shields in Bloodborne, since its supposed to focus on faster gameplay, which they offset by adding the regain system where if you're hit, you have a small window of time to gain health back by hitting enemies right back. So just try to get used to going on a quick offensive flurry if you are hit.

When you can, try to pull enemies out one at a time (i.e. throwing a pebble at one) vs. taking on a whole mob.

I am a huge souls fan, and got maybe 1/3 of the way into BB. Have been meaning to pick it back up and continue on, but I do feel like it's missing something that the souls games have. Maybe its variety in weapons(and therefore builds), or lackluster multiplayer, but I'm not totally into it yet.

In any case, its definitely a good game, very challenging, beautiful graphics.

Remember that dying is part of the game

Look for secret passages by breaking boxes that may hide avenues or ladders; shortening the map is a huge part of the game.

Pay attention to how weapons work with stats so you don't waste points.

The cane/whip is tied to Skill

The axe and saw are tied to Strength

Also, read the descriptions when you find items. They actually help tell the story, which you have to put together as you go.

Have fun. It's a great game.

If you want something fun, twitchy and competitive, Titanfall is a good time and it is really cheap now, like 29.99 for the game and all the DLC.
