I wish I could find the video, but it was his pregame huddle speech in Detroit. It went something like this:
"We are the New York Giants! We travel around the country ... No. We travel around the WORLD. And we whip ass! That's what we do! New York Giants on three! 1,2,3... NEW YORK GIANTS!"
"Suhey if I get back into this game, I'm going to kick your f*cking *ss!.
Actually, the quote is: "Shuler, if I ever get back into this game, I'm going to kick your fucking ass! " he's referring to the Jets tight end Mickey Shuler.
"This won't be good enough. It wasn't good enough today. It won't be good enough against anybody else, either." - Bill Belichick in reference to his defense after the Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals 27-7 in December of 1986 (previously they had only given up 6 points to the Cardinals that year).
I just think this mentality - the reaction to winning by 20 as not good enough - explains so well how NE has such consistency winning games, and how BB was able to go undefeated (almost) in 2007.
Second, this quote:
Quote:
"He would say 'C'mon, it's a great deal!" without even knowing what players or picks were being discussed. So I started taking my calls outside." - Ernie Accorsi speaking of Jim Fassel during the draft.
would really seem to explain the inability of Fassel to get a HC job, in spite of a decent resume and his knowledge of the game.
"Suhey if I get back into this game, I'm going to kick your f*cking *ss!.

I've been wondering forever who he was talking to! Thanks! Does anyone know why he was so pissed at Shuler?

He cut him from behind. Fortunately he didn't get hurt. He wasn't so lucky against SF in 1989 when he was rolled by the scumbag, McKettrick taught cheating pricks of the 49ers.

That Fassel quote is so... so... Fassel. Never really had much of a problem with him as coach but he always looked like one of the geekier coaches in the league to me. Which reminds me of a clip I saw of him on the NFL Network last night (can't remember the show). But it's a clip of Fassel and his wife standing next to Jim Harbaugh and they cut in to see Fassel frantically trying to enter Harbaugh's phone number into his phone. So it's obvious he has no idea what he's doing and the clip makes it seem like they're standing there FOREVER waiting on JF to get Harbaugh's number into his phone. At one point JF's wife even can be heard saying 'I'll remember it Jim.' because it was obvious that Harbaugh was getting impatient.
So finally... after what looked to be a very long time of him trying to get his number he realizes that the number is already in his phone.

I would take this with a grain of salt. Accorsi tends to say a lot of stuff to make himself look great in hindsight.
golf outing that I attended. It was torture. Long winded and irrelevant. People (me included) were sneaking out the back door onto the patio at Winged Foot.

What a dork.
So who is the real dork, Fassel or Big Al?
The dork is strong with both of them.
not a quote by a Giant, but still a favorite of mine, pre-SB 42 Â
during Super Bowl week, after he had what looked like frost bite on his face at GB the week before: "Now they're talking about my face. Last year it was my ass."
At the end of the '07 Championship season, after defeating the Cowboys in the locker room when TC says "We took the star off the mountain top and put the NYG on top" to which Eli immediately replies, "Let's keep it up there!"
Absolutely priceless :-)
Dwight Clark, dating a playboy bunny at the time, just made a nice catch in the end zone. Pat Summerall: Dwight Clark is having a very good year on the field ...................... and off.
