For this old game review, I went back to the 2002 season finale game, which was a Saturday contest with everything at stake for the Giants. If they win, they make the playoffs. If they lose or tie, they are out.
The Eagles had AJ Feeley at QB because McNabb was still out with a broken ankle and they were playing for home field advantage, but had already clinched the NFC East.
This was one of the most frustrating Giants games in memory, they lost 2 TDs due to holding calls, had an end zone interception, missed a field goal, and Tiki Barber lost 3 fumbles despite rushing for over 200 yards.
However, a clutch Shockey TD, a late miss by David Aikers and an OT interception from Shaun Williams helped the Giants to a 10-7 OT win.
For the next game, I'll look back at the 1984 Wild Card win against the LA Rams in Anaheim, which was Bill Parcells' first playoff win as a head coach.

Remember Shockey's catch over Dawkins. . . I thought it marked the beginning of big things for him.
My friend was okay with the loss because they already clinched the playoffs, but walking out of the stadium, the Giants fans were chanting "Eagles Suck" going down the circular ramps.
If I remember correctly, it was Tiki Barber bobblehead day and I still have the bobblehead in my Giants room.

I was at the game as well. I don't remember Tiki Barber bobbleheads. I still have the "Win and In" towel that they gave out.
The following year. HA! Thanks, guys!
I was supposed to go to that game with my cousin from Philly, but had WAY too much to drink the previous night. I watched the game in bed.
Akers missing the field goal is also an underrated moment.
It highlights all of Tiki's hightlights and lowlights, as well as the Shockey play.

A double reverse is when player A takes the ball one way, hands off or pitches to player B, who takes it the opposite way, then hands off or pitches to player C, who takes it back in the original direction.
The problem is that all the time, people confuse end arounds with reverses. They see the QB hand off a WR coming through the backfield, and they scream "Reverse!" No it isn't, dumbass.
We'll never know how far they wouldve gone if it wasn't for that damned 49ers meltdown.
Great point about the bad snap on the winning FG. That may have been what gave us Trey Junkin. My recollection is that we had had serious problems with snapping/holding earlier in the season but that things had settled down. I never understood why Fassel didn't just leave well enough alone. Makes a bit more sense if Bober almost cost us a playoff spot with a bad snap in this game.
Same here but my ass was at home
