Both receivers are intriguing, but it's highly unlikely that both make the roster. Before Soup Harris's injury, he looked really good and I preferred him. However, I think Parker is the safer pick at this point. Thoughts?
I know he'll never be a starting wideout but he's a good backup who will do whatever you ask and he's scrappy. Just an easy guy to root for.
Don't really know much about Harris. He looked good in preseason and the coaches are high on him. If he beats out Parker then good for him and I'll wish Parker well.
Hoping Harris can nudge Parker off the roster but if he doesn't Parker is a relaible vet. Its a classic young kid with upside vs reliable vet situation
I like both guys more than Washington. I just dont see Washington being more than a big body that will shine against backups and disappear against starting defenses.
Drops too many, his route running is nothing special, and no one on the other side is worried when he is on the field. If he is starting, it means a lot of the team's WRs are hurt and the team is in trouble.
Every time Beckham was getting targeted Parker was always the first one to jump in. He's a tough dude and Beckham needs someone to fight his battles. Flowers is going to be great in this role too but to have that presence in the receiver group is huge. The talent difference isn't wide enough for Soup to beat him out IMO.
I really like Parker he's a nasty guy he won't get smacked in the mouth at FSU he was the same. It helps to have a guy like that cause I couldn't see Randel or Cruz going and legitimately fighting anyone.
but I have high hopes for Harris and even though its arena ball his highlights are impressive. I feel he's honestly just gotten unlucky most of his career. Due to the lack of experience at this point I would go Parker. I'd just trust him more if Cruz or Odell got hurt. But I think Harris could play a lot next season if he impresses enough again. Your evidence for the Washington statement? When you don't get chances because of your lack of impact on Specials, just how do you make such a definitive statement. In other words, where's the evidence that backs this up?
commodity of the two and he had an awful game on MNF? that I think influences many opinions of him a little too much.
Harris was in the UFL and the Arena league before signing on with the Giants, and he was cut by several NFL teams before those stops, so he's not been off the charts jump out you player before. He's 26 years old and I don't think he's played in a game yet at WR.
and Washington is so much younger than those two and dressed for 14 games last year as a D3 rookie. I don't know any of us have seen enough to proclaim what he'll do in the NFL
RE: RE: Preston parker is not intriguing. He is a known quantity. Â

Just how I perceive things today. Not making any definitive statements. I've been much more impressed with Harris and actually thought he might earn a role on the team last year prior to injury. The combination of Washington's comments he made during last season and his lack of special teams contribution limits my optimism towards him.
Q: Did anyone other than Randle stand out in the spring?
A: I thought Corey Washington had an excellent spring. I thought he had an excellent spring in the classroom and in the meetings. His attitude was outstanding. He worked. He got better and we will compile all the catches, but he is right up there. I am not sure if he didn’t lead the pack in catches and productivity for the spring. He certainly stood out to me. I thought Preston made some great strides, in particular playing in the slot. He is seeing things a little bit better. He is seeing defenses, reacting to blitzes better, so I thought Preston did a great job. I think those two guys really stuck out to me.
Soup? New York Met Eric Campbell's nickname is Soup. That makes sense. Marcus Harris? When and how did this develop. He's Marcus Harris. Personally I'd prefer he make a play in a real game before getting a nickname.

Soup is not a player fan assigned nickname, it's legit his nickname no clue where it came from - here's his twitter avatar.
It's ok if you don't give yourself the nickname... However, I wouldn't go by something short for superstar if I'm on the roster bubble. Maybe put that nickname in semi-retirement for a bit... All due respect for Marcus, here. But you're in the NFL, right now, not high school. Make some plays, and I'll be glad to call you whatever you want.
I fully get the irony here with my handle, btw, which is tongue-in-cheek, and something a friend used to call me when we were playing softball, lol. Not baseball, softball.
and want PP, battle tested, nasty, and got his teammates' backs, that's clear. This myth that he drops a lot of passes is a bit overdone and may have started with Eli's overthrow that some saw as PP cutting off his route. Maybe he shaved a tad, but it was going to be a bad overthrow regardless.
JAG. his ticket to NFL longevity is being a slightly better JAG with versatility than whatever JAG he's competing against.
After Washington whined in the press, I wouldn't be surprised if coach praise is just a motivation pep rally for him so that he keeps his head in the game. Preseason, it's nice to read comments, but ultimately, when the bullets start flying for real, and you see who gets playing time, is when you see what the coaches really think.

Well I guess that settles is. Poor Soup is the odd man out. He'll get a chance somewhere else for sure if he is cut.
The big issue with Parker is mental lapses game in and game out, he's got to clean up the mental mistakes (be it bad routes, drops, penalties, he's a brainfarter).

It's for superstar, which apparently Jeremy Maclin started calling him when they were high school teammates.

Glad to hear the WR coach giving some praise.

Not the same guy. Obviously Randle is better than Washington, although both will get roster spots.
