I think he has some sort of mental illness. 5 months to prepare an explanation and yet he came off sounding very strange, bumbling with no real answer.
don't how to deal when there's a chink in the armor. He knew how to behave when he easily assumed he had you charmed, doesn't perform as well with doubts. Yes, of course I'm projecting.
after a while I had sympathy for him. But that video cinched it for me..he's just a lying jerk.
What can't he just say...I did not tell the truth and you all have seen that and I am thankful for another opportunity to earn millions while I work to regain your trust?
he sounded like a broken man trying to find a way to apologize. I watched the whole thing, I believed some and didn't believe some, which is usually the case when someone is trying to make up for something blatantly wrong.
If he had some well thought out apology I probably wouldn't believe a word of it.
who can't admit some wrong doing and tris to rationalize it not understanding how silly the rationalizing sounds to the grown ups.
Exactly, this guy has some balls coming back on TV. Newsman? Fraud would be more accurate. Now the line between entertainment and news has been irrevocably blurred, but you are not supposed just make things up to glorify yourself.
This man is a narcissist and the fact he can even return to TV news is absurd. Also, the idea that you can just apologize and everything is ok is childish. There should be consequences for adults. Guy is getting 10 million a year too. This is like rewarding the school bus driver who wanted to air out the engine on the yellow bus and drove it off a bridge.
He sounded sincere and apologetic, but he was asked point-blank whether he knew, when he was misrepresenting the Chopper Incident, that he was not telling the truth, and he said no, and that he was not trying to mislead people.
I have no idea how that can be squared with reality. He told the story correctly for years after it happened. Then the story started morphing into a more personally harrowing experience. Then he was finally called on it, and he immediately acknowledged he was wrong. If he had some sort of brain condition that had him honestly mis-remembering what actually happened, why would he so suddenly have acknowledged his misrepresentation after someone had called him on it? If anything, he should've stuck to the false story and been confused as to why he had told it differently years earlier.
or willful blindness. The passage of time and the reliving of events has been shown to alter people's memories. I don't think he woke up one morning and made a discrete decision to fabricate a false story. He may have honestly believed it as he told it. What this shows to me is that there has to be a good way to document events in certain circumstances. Maybe journalists should wear body cams.

Produced an evil laugh from me.

I thought his close call at the Battle of Hastings had a more profound effect on him.

So hot. I'd post but still never tried posting a pic on here yet.
