Seems to me they put less on him last year versus previous years, not in terms of running the ball but in terms of how complex the playbook was and the reads he had to make.
I mean really? The dude had 7 sacks. This Terrance Knighton dude has been in the league 4 more years than Hankins and only has 5.5 more sacks to show for it...
He has had better years then last year. He just looked better last year because they had a great offensive line and they gave the ball to Murray more. Last years team was not about him.

Here is an article that shows how Romo compares to the other QBs in the NFL, not just the NFC East.
Here is a telling paragraph.
Which brings us neatly back to Tony Romo. In 2014, Romo threw for a 100+ passer rating in 10 games (equaling his personal best from the 2007 season), and the Cowboys won every single one of those games. Over the three-year period from 2011-2013, Romo threw for 20 such games, but the Cowboys lost a stunning eight of the 20, for a win percentage of just .600. In our table above, that percentage would rank Romo 32nd out of 33 QBs. Which just goes to show that a QB can't win games by himself, and a great game by the QB won't mean much if he doesn't have the right supporting staff around him.
Ultimately, it's not one player that wins and loses games. Tony Romo has more than his fair share of detractors, but going by the company he keeps in the stats above, he is at the very top of the game. And last year, it looks like the rest of the team finally caught up.
That's what I've said before, Romo has always played at a very high level, consistently year in year out. It has been the rest of the team that has not played to his level. Link - ( New Window )

Last year was room's best year and ironically it was the year they asked him to so the least. Also, it. Oukd be argued he was their 6th best offensive player. That's very, very telling.
I'm seriously not sure, so I figured I'd ask. Have you owned up to being a Cowboys fan? Or are you trolling us and pretending to be a Giants fan? It's incredibly obvious that you're a Dallas fan, so why the hell are you here? The only threads you show up on are threads in which you ramble on and on and on about the Cowboys and their in workings. Awhile back, I remember you denied being a Cowboys fan, so I'm curious if you're still playing us for fools? Or did you own up to it?
So, where has he been for the last ten years? Cowering in his mom's basement? Drowning his sorrows at the local TGI Fridays? Standing outside of MetLife Stadium...in the rain...shaking his fist and cursing Big Blue?
The Cowboys were very good last year. They've been on an upswing while the Giants have sputtered. They've drafted well of late, putting together an outstanding offensive line, and they have, arguably, the best receiver in the league, and a pretty good QB, too.. They also swept the Giants the last two years, and will most likely be favored to do it again this year. No doubt they'll also be favored to win the division again.
Fanatic II must have figured that it was safe to come out now. You know...like a rodent.

It's quite obvious that I am a Dallas fan, and I have never denied it. I come not just to this site but to other sites of the fellow NFC East teams to see how Dallas is viewed. I respond on threads about Dallas when there are points made about Dallas that I feel are not accurate. I then post facts and don't speculate to make the point and give the poster and the board a different view of Dallas. You can then choose to accept it or not.
I find it amazing that no matter what board is visited there are posters that enjoy different views and then there are others that are annoyed that the party line is not being followed. It's part of human nature I guess.

I have been around longer then just last year. The posters are noticing my replies because Dallas is the major threat in the division.
You can stay on your local team site and get the same rah-rah threads 99% of the time, or you can venture out and see how other boards view your team. I like going to the opposing team sites the week before the scheduled game and reading the views of the board of the up coming game.
I don't troll. I respect the board. That's the difference. If I were to come on and start by bashing the opposing team and singing the praises of Dallas, this would be trolling. I like to engage in a dialogue where ideas and points are exchanged and discussed.

Romo didn't do less, he was just more efficient.
It was the rest of the team that rose to Romo's level. That's why the team that went 8-8 for three years in a row was now 12-4.
Romo is the most indispensable player on Dallas. Take Romo out and teams will be crowding the LOS and challenging Dallas to beat them through the air. Bryant and the other receivers will also find that getting the ball will be more difficult because the accuracy will not be there.
That you believe that Romo is only the 6th best offensive player is just ridiculous.

Saying romo is the most indispensable player on the team doesn't Carry much weight because you can say that about just about every qb in the league for their teams. Eli is y far and away our most indespensible player too, even though OBJ is clearly better.
And it's very debatable if he was their 6th best offensive player. Last time I checked dez, murray, and the 3 OL were incredible themselves. Romo wasn't even the mvp of his team, yet alone the league.
You only come on here when it suits you. You've never had a negative thing to say about the Cowboys on this site. If you're going to come on here and set us straight, how about you do it both ways? Stick your Pom pops up your ass.
Where do you live? You prolly couldn't point Texas out on a map, let alone Dallas. Cowboy fans drive me fucking insane. "I seen them on Thanksgiving when I was a snot faced shit stain.." Is the common rationale for someone rooting for Dallas. worst fans on the planet, and it's not close. When they are winning, those assclown fans are everywhere. But when they are losing, they're nowhere to be found. And you are no different.
Don't come here playing your "I'm here to educate" bullshit. Giants fans don't need a damn education from some dipshit Cowboys fan. That's like Lenny from "Of Mice and Men" trying to educate Albert Einstein.

You fall into the "only one point of view is allowed" category.
You come here to set us straight. You said it yourself. You come here to run to your teams defense. That's not exactly coming here with an open mind. We don't need some random supposed Dallas fan coming on to a Giants site to tell us all how awesome the Cowboys are. and the fact that Dallas fans are the fakest, most fair weather, unknowledgable fans in sports, you've got a ways to go to earn our respect.

...and 2 linebackers who were hurt last year.
Romo is a quality QB, but this past year is not indicitive to that. He played behind a tremendous OL and one of the best run games.
He didn't even average 30 passes a game. Eli, meanwhile, average 37.5.
