I read that the NFL made an exception and allowed Collins to attend the rookie symposium since it is for drafted players only. From what I understand, the symposium contains lectures about money management, avoiding off the field problems, etc....why on Earth should the NFL not invite any rookie that has signed an NFL contract? What is the logic behind this?
And the fact that most UDFAs wont be in the league for long
I can understand not inviting all the UDFAs. The increase in size would be enormous, and most of those kids will never have any NFL money to manage.
Thats 320 people league wide to fly out, house, feed and run the course for. Most of whom won't be in the league come late august.
Thats just not practical. One off cases where the team or the player shoulders the extra cost is practical.
And this is completely different than the supplemental draft.
