Variety brings word that some new additions are coming to the cast of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” as characters from the comic team “Secret Warriors” will be making their way to the series.

Assembled by Nick Fury in the source material, members of the Secret Warriors include the super speedster Slingshot; Stonewall, the son of Absorbing Man (another “Agents of SHIELD” character); the teleporting Manifold; the mystic Druid; Phobos, son of Ares the god of war; and the pyrotechnic Hellfire. One of the founding members of the team is already a character on the series, Chloe Bennet’s Daisy “Quake” Johnson. Check back here for more news on the Secret Warriors in “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” and check out the teaser art below...

in the season finale, and you can clearly see it says "Caterpillar" (the code name for Secret Warriors), this isn't a surprise.

The actors who played Mack and Lincoln were made season regulars.
For those of us who aren't up on the comics...

It's a little bit of a surprise. More of an "interesting development" than a surprise, though.

Secret Warriors means jack shit to them.
That's right, which is why I posted the article.

Now I know who the Secret Warriors are, and others like me can find out, too.

I owe you one for turning me on to this show - binging on Season 2 on Netflix right now, and it is excellent.

I was skeptical when I first saw Kyle Maclachlan, but holy shit is he knocking his role out of the park.
Rob, you must have missed my early reports. : )

I did not like the show early on, in fact I can recall starting a thread saying that I'd just about given up on it.

The movie tie-ins gave it new life, though, first Thor: Dark World, and then Captain America: The Winter Soldier. From then on it's been excellent.
No, I actually gave up on it....very early,

Didn't even really give it a chance...you got me back, eventually.

Well then, I'm glad you gave it another shot.

Some shows just take a little time to hit their stride. I always go back to Star Trek: DS9, which I didn't like all that much for its first couple of seasons. Once it hit its stride, though, for me it became the best sci-fi show ever on TV.

Kyle did better with the role as the season wore on.. He was superb in the finale.
He's got the whole world in his hand...

The first 3/4 of the 1st season were awful...

It turned a corner toward the end and Season 2 was pretty interesting. And they didn't miss on any of the new additions either. They're all well acted and generally interesting.

I expected they were going in this direction. It'll be pretty interesting to see how it ties into the Civil War movie. You can see the wheels already starting on that in the show.
