Back 20 something years ago when I was a kid who loved summer I would've never imagined that I'd have this much hatred for it. Hockeys done. Basketballs done.
Cookouts
family
parties
hiking
camping
fishing
bonfires
drinks on the deck
girls in sun dresses
baseball
I love football season, fall is actually my favorite season altogether, but summer is pretty amazing in its own way and I don't begrudge a second of it...
As soon as the July 4th holiday passes I start counting down the days
I hope Summer sticks around for a long, long time. I am excited for football and hockey but those things mean the cold weather is right around the corner again.
I'll gladly take the beaches and BBQ's and outside stuff for a while here.
Is this going to be the norm from here on out with the winters? I hate winter too, I hate the extreme heat/humidity and cold weather but the autumns the past couple of years have been thoroughly enjoyable, in my opinion. Working outside, I hate both, but if hell is a place, it's a cold one in -45 degree weather.
Too hot. Too humid. I sweat doing all of my house projects. I want fires in my wood stove, s'mores etc. Perfect world would be 6 months of fall. 3 months of REAL spring. 3 of winter and 0 of summer. And of course tnag would include trips to my parents house in Florida when I need the heat. The Hudson valley summers are just too humid.
too fucking hot down here to enjoy anything outdoors
I'm a Spring/Fall guy.. give me 70 degrees all day. But nothing pisses me off more than extreme cold for prolonged stretches like we had this year.
Last winter was brutally cold, too. I think the one before that was fairly mild. Hopefully we're due for that this coming winter. If we have another one like this one we just had, I'm going to seriously consider leaving NY.
Bugs..bees...wasps..blech
Boob sweat...Ass Sweat...I'm sure your dingleberries are a sweaty mess
Everything is sweaty and stinks
Humidity bah
My hair is a frizzy mess
PITA to shave my legs every other fucking day
I have my AC and fan on at all times because I am not comfy unless I am in arctic conditions.
But then again, I'm at the beach year round. Spring/Fall is ideal. Spring - the Canadians/Snow Birds have left and it's too early for the tourists. Fall - Tourists have thinned out and the Canadians haven't arrived yet.

Love you Winter
This is the unsexiest post in the history of the Internet.
Long days, light out when you get up in the morning, light out until 9:00 PM.
3PM tee times.
Cooking on the grill, reading the Suday paper out on my deck, vacations in Avalon, the nicest town on the Jersey Shore. Sitting in the sun with a cold adult beverage. Oh yeah, Summer sucks.
because I live on the Westside in Los Angeles and it usually doesn't get too hot. Growing up in upstate NY, the winters sucked, but the summers got hot and humid and that's no fun.
But things do get easier for me in the summer. I get outside when it's cold or hot so that doesn't phase me as much it is nice to be able to walk outside with t shirt and shorts and of course summer dresses...big plus... I totally get where the haters are coming from tho. I'm one of those assholes that has grown to appreciate the changing seasons, including summer. Sorry.
in Orlando, I think back to my days on L.I. The torturous heat is worth suffering though to avoid the PITA the Winter became and all those rainy, sleety crappy days.
He's only been walking for a few months, but so far it's nice to be able to go outside with him without too much fuss. And we're not yet to the point where he's watching any TV, so it's going to be a pain in the ass to keep him away from living room if I'm watching a football game. I may be a "DVR and watch after bedtime" viewer for this season.
None of what many of you have posted appeals to me in the slightest. Cook outs, beach, sun, nice days, etc. Yeah, don't care. I certainly don't like freezing in the winter, but I'd prefer to be cold than hot.

My work closes from December (around the same time school gets done for the semester) until the first week of January and then I take my paid two weeks vacation immediately after that so keeps me inside for a good month. With no obligations, the cold weather doesn't bother me being inside obviously. In January 2014, I found out the hard way we don't have a temperature limit for working outside or just my boss is really fucking stupid (probably that)...either way I felt like all that time off was canceled out by coming back on the coldest weather day of that year. Eh, yeah fuck the cold but fuck the heat too. Summer isn't fun like I was a kid, so fuck it I guess? My work increases to 40-50 hours. Good money but the humidity and the beach can suck it.
Oh yeah, I love football season. It is my favorite time of year. I know that it's coming soon but summer is also a boring time of year (for sports)...I do like baseball but regular season isn't anything special...same with the All Star Game.
Despite living 50 seconds away from the beach, I think it sucks. I think being there is one of the most boring things to do, i hate the hot sand on my feet.
Secondly, the half naked girls walking around. Big deal? I could fill up (or release) all my expressed fulfillment from watching porn! :-O
Lastly, the summer traffic can suck a fat one as well. That's the worst of it. Like arc said, 75 degrees with a breeze all the time and it's a wonderful day. The winter has made me think of the true desire of moving away from NJ though. Mysitc Island in Little Egg Harbor is a terrible place to have a BBQ anyways, actually the worst. Green heads and mosquitoes are just waiting to bite and suck the blood from your children.
but i've always thought summer is overrated because - unless you are doing a fun outdoor summer activity, its actually more depressing. i know that sounds crazy.
summer fun at the beach and stuff is awesome but very dependent on weather.
heat and humidity and bugs and sunburn are overrated also.
when you have kids under 5 years old summers can actually be a lot of work and challenging. once they are a little older they get fun again.
i admit i'm a contrarian though - my two favorite things to do are skiing (winter) and playing ice hockey (winter).
i'm not saying summer isnt fun, but if your not having summer fun, summers are depressing.

Please. Please tell me you're a woman.
Please.
I miss football don't mind summer heat to much since
I work in a fridge. That being said since I live in sw florida I love winter.plus I can still hang by the beach and see all the pretty northern girls in bathing suits that ate on vacation if I choose to.
The only thing I hate about summer is mowing the damned lawn every week oh and the mosquitos fuck them.
long cold winters, I can't get enough of summer. throw on a t and shorts and enjoy the long sunny days. the summer dresses/daisy dukes are also a nice benefit. football can wait.

So summer's all right in my book, so far.
Exactly. When you have a young kid the winters can be rough. Add in that my wife doesn't work summers due to working in the schools... Life is great over the summer. Even my job tends to be mellow this time of year.
I love football but these past two winters have sucked.

July 30 can not get here fast enough.
Fuck summer.

ouch, low blow :)
Have you installed a stone lawn yet?
but these past few winters between the Giants and the weather have been depressing.
I'm enjoying this summer.

All these activites obviously slow down or stop come September.
As a kid I enjoyed these games during the summers, in the short time span that they lasted.
Always a great holdover for the NFL fans.
3PM tee times.

Now if AC hadn't been invented...
Bring me Fall and some football.
This bullshit is a fuckin letdown. Fuck you nature.

Agreed 1000%
Figure that shit out.

Football season is the consolation prize at the end of summer, taking some of the sting out of the change of seasons.
1000% agree!!!

Weather between 30-60 is perfect for me.
Figure that shit out.
Lets be honest FEK. Everyone on BBI and doctors will never figure you out.
