Anyone else watch this? I've been watching it after True Detective each week. I think it's similar enough to Entourage in that it's a show to just enjoy without thinking too heavily but different enough to keep things interesting. Its not groundbreaking by any means, but its enjoyable enough to watch each week.
Yeah I think that sums it up in a nutshell. How is the Brink?
Episode 2 was terrible.

Nothing special. Again, very much like Entourage, so the whole story is kind of played out. I'll keep watching it because its on in between True Detective and The Brink (which I really like), but not overly impressed with it.

Personally, I think Brink is hilarious. Robbins and Black have me cracking up for most of the episode.
It's definitely different because i don't think the NFL branding has ever been used quite like this in entertainment before (without the NFL signing off on it). The fact that actual NFL teams, and not generically named teams, are a function of the plot adds some interest.
Ballers is more the agent/money side of things (so far). very little on-field or even really off-field football.
the first two episodes have focused on the contracts, extensions, off-field issues, etc.
Was not aware of that. i know he quit the NFL early to write, but I didn't realize it was for screenwriting.
Again a show that says that women are only either good for sex in bathrooms or looking after their meal ticket

Thats actually a really good point, never thought of it like that.
