If the Seminole Tribe of Florida that approved the use of the Chief Osceola likeness and the name Seminoles doesn't have a problem with it, why do you?

Seminoles isnt a derogatory term like Redskins. And the Seminole Tribe of Florida officially sanctions the use of the Seminole as Florida State University’s nickname and of Osceola as FSU's symbol. The larger Seminole nation in Oklahoma has approved its use too.

Nothing to see here.

FSU takes pains to identify Osceola as a "symbol", not a mascot, and to point out that he doesn't lead cheers or dance around with cheerleaders like mascots do.
