NFT: Businesses or Websites that can save/repair old t-shirts?

FranknWeezer : 6/29/2015 11:34 pm
Really weird question here, but sometimes BBI is perfect for that type thing. I have in mind 3 of my favorite t-shirts- one with an old school NFL logo on it and the other two are "Life is Good." They're soft, worn and full of holes and tears...but the center logo (for lack of a better term) is in tact on all 3. However, all 3 are also out of print. Any idea if there's a company online or whatever that could take the logo from my shirt (or make a facsimile of it) and put it on a new or newish shirt, so I can actually wear it without having tons of holes everywhere? Again, I know that's another odd request, but I like these shirts enough that I'd pay $30 a pop to get another 4-5 years out of each of them. Thanks for passing along any info.
No expert, but I would guess that...

...any decent silkscreening place could scan and duplicate the logos/info and transfer that to as many shirts as you care to pay for. No idea on cost, but I would have to think that it will be quite reasonable.

Do a search on t-shirt silkscreening and see who's in your area.
Another possibility is to consider

making the center logos into a T-Shirt quilt.
I second Diver's suggestion

My mom in law did something like this for my wife, and it looks awesome. Then you got all those memories in one place.

Any silkscreening place COULD duplicate, but most likely won't for one shirt. (I own a custom t-shirt company). If you think about the costs involved - the graphic time to recreate the logo in vectored art, then the cost to make a screen (assuming these shirts are only a 1 color imprint) is usually in the $25 range. Then the cost of the shirt, and the labor time to set up the press, print the shirt, and then get the press ready for the next job. This is why most places have minimum orders of 20, 50, 72, etc.

And this isn't considering the copyright issues that reprinting an NFL logo or Life if Good image.

Hate to burst your bubble, as I myself have some OLD t-shirts I keep around and only wear around the house. I have a friend who has the quilt that he's hung in his man-cave as a bit of a tapestry. You could cut around the logo and frame them if they are that important to you.

Good luck.
Do not cut the logo yourself if you plan on going the quilt route.

You will end up cutting leaving to little surrounding fabric for the quilter to work with. Just launder and fold the shirts. Give the shirts in their entirety (what's left) to the quilter and let them cut them down.
Thx folks
