I was lucky enough to get the company suite for me and about 10 friends and family last night at MSG for what could be my last Rush show.
Since the suites have been relatively newly renovated - along with the rest of the Garden - i was pretty shocked at how great they turned out. Great views/sightlines, brand new everything, etc. Fully stocked fridge and plenty of food.
Here are a couple pics for you guys:
Roll the Bones...
Completely sold out show!
"Losing It" with guest violinst Jonathan Dinklage - you definitely don't see this everyday:
"Animate" and the start of a great light show...more on that in a second...
And this pic is actually from last week in Montreal during "Animate". From below at MSG you couldn't appreciate the light show they put on. Last week we sat in the upper level and the lights were sick.
Friend of mine went to the aftershow party last night and chatted some with Geddy and Alex.
And surprisingly Red Barchetta only 9 times.
Rush was as good as I've seen them, no sign of age especially Neal Peart who basically plays drum runs through every song all night long. Simply amazing.
Rush also has a great sense of humor with the videos and stage antics.
And surprisingly Red Barchetta only 9 times.
Yeah, they didn't plan on playing it in Newark. They had Jonathan Dinklage there so they decided that day to put in. Made me happy!!
Barchetta has been on the A set list. We got The Camera Eye in Newark and Greensboro, which I was more than fine with...
My only changes would be for them to start off with less new songs from the last couple albums to make room to play songs from the string of albums they skipped over. Show Don't Tell, Mission, Half The World, Prime Mover, Superconductor....all or any of those would've been great. Neil mentioned in an interview before the tour that he wanted to dust off Hand Over Fist live but apparently it didn't make the final setlist.
I wish the guys could play for 40 more years.
And the house was totally packed to the gills. Even the suites were pretty packed.
