Budding PFWD who is still getting better. I think Dano will fly under the radar when people analyze it though. Only 20 years old. He really stood out to me the few times I watched CBJ last year. Played a really strong game against us near the end of the season.
I dont see it at all. I mean they're both PFs who do a lot of damage on the rush. Saad is probably more skillful/polished. But he's 6'0 or 6'1, 205. Kreider is 6'3, 235. Kreider is as strong as a moose and as fast as a rocket. Saad doesnt have that size/strength/speed combo.
I know Im supposed to be more scared of the BJs but Im just not. Record setting injuries and all (and that can never happen again, right Giants fans?). I still feel like they're one line. Their DNA still reminds me of the pre-Nash Rangers team. Lots of sandpaper forwards who are just a horrible pain in the ass to play, skill on one line, and a good goalie. More offensive dmen but overall a work d corps; and but for one year Bob cant sniff Hank's jock.
Cant say I paid a ton of attention to them so my opinion may be outdated. We'll see.
get to see a good amount of them. Even if you consider it just one good line, that one line is really good with Saad-Johansen-Jenner all being 23 and under. Dubinsky centers the 2nd line with guys like Hartnell, Foligno, or Cam Atlinson on the wings. Johansen is absolutely a top line guy, we'll see if the other guys develop to that level. But with recent first rounders like Wennberg, Rychel, and Milano ready to come up, it's a really strong group of forwards.
If there is a weakness, they have a lot of solid 2nd pair type defensemen (tyutin, jack Johnson, etc, but Ryan Murray is the only 1st pairing type. But he hasn't been able to stay healthy consistently. Also Bobrovsky is a bit overrated. He had one spectacular year in the lockout season but has inconsistent since.
We have an advantage on defense and in goal. But their forward group is really young and has a lot of potential. It's a really good team and they may have become our top competition in the metro today.
But as deej has pointed out, i dont view them as anymore difficult a playoff opponent than NYI or PITT at this time.
Sure in a few years if they can keep that group and keep adding to it ... sure, they'll be good. But Rangers will be rebuilding by then anyway so just dont care.
When you look at the context of the east... they got a little better, Boston got significantly worse. It's a wash.
I think they're a tougher playoff opponent than Pittsburgh right now. That may change based on what the Penguins do in the offseason, but right now they're Crosby, Malkin, Letang and a bunch of stiffs.
And I know very little of those prospects but I know Anisimov and I think it's a steal for Columbus.
especially after the mid-season rumors of locker room strife.
the Habs were 20th in goals per game, some more scoring and another top 4 blueliner and they can be a legit contender.
Pj, I already picked the Habs to win the Cup next year. They then sign Stamkos and win the Cup 7 times in a row.
Better deal than I thought at first blush. Few guys I follow on Twitter love Dano.
I view Saad and Kreider as comparable players. Saad's a bit younger, IIRC.

You shut your mouth!
