NFT: WWC Semifinal--USA vs. Germany

Lineups are in:

USA:

Solo; Klingenberg, Sauerbrunn, Johnston, Krieger; Brian, Holiday; Rapinoe, Lloyd (C), Heath; Morgan

So only one true forward for the US which means we'll try to clog up the midfield. Looks like a 4-2-3-1 so Holiday's distribution needs to be good

Germany:

Angerer (C); Kemme, Krahn, Bartusiak, Maier; Goessling, Leupolz; Popp, Mittag, Laudehr; Sasic

Also a 4-2-3-1 so Rapinoe and Heath will have to put pressure on Popp and Laudehr along the flanks

I'm glad to see that Heath and Brian are both keeping their spots in the lineup and that Wambach is starting as a sub.

I like that we have both Rapinoe and Heath as playmakers, but I hope we aren't leaving too much speed on the bench considering how France blazed the flanks on Germany.

Coming in from the keeper's right and angling toward the goal, and she chose to shoot with her left foot, seemingly against the grain. IMO, a touch with her right gives her a better angle and better placement opportunity.

Germany played 120 against France so burn them out a little bit on the right wing. O'Hara also plays better defense than Heath

Solo flinched to her left as Sasic was running up because Sasic always goes that way...so Sasic changed her mind at the last second to go the other way. That's why she missed
