-gonna have 12+ sacks
-OO is a monster unto himself too
Moore.
AcidTest : 7/1/2015 7:38 am : link
This is his third year. OO is a rookie.
Moore, providing his shoulder problems are behind him.
Klaatu : 7/1/2015 7:41 am : link
I don't expect too much from Odighizuwa this year, except for special teams.
It should be Moore, but

I question the brain in his head.
Maybe not the topic

But I think it's going to be Wynn who has the best year of the young DEs. If he pans out it will be a major steal. His "explosion numbers" 31 reps, 34 vert and 9.5' broad jump add to 74.5 just barely off the 75 that is considered exceptional. We can hope.

Those questioning his mental and maturity, just know they guy went back and finished his degree this off season. How many players do that while still playing, and of those how many do it so early in their careers.

I feel that he will be the Tuck in Spags system lining up over the weakest lineman and getting to the QB in true blue wrecking crew style.

Funny, I question the brain in the jar under the sink.
sealed fate

moore could be a poster boy for why perry's gone. he is clearly one of our best defensive players + to not use him was dumb. specifically not having him on the field for that final drive vs. the cowboys, sealed his fate
Finishing his degree is nice
JonC : 7/1/2015 9:41 am : link
but whether Moore's problems are resolved remains to be seen on the football field.
Moore needs to get bigger
UberAlias : 7/1/2015 9:46 am : link
He has all the talent, but was too undersized when he first came in. Hopefully he's been sticking to the weights along with the studies. There is room on his frame to put some of that size on --and he's actually the younger of the two of them.

That's a great point that gets forgotten, coaches indicated he was playing around 220 lbs late last season and wasn't holding up well enough.
Moore will be limited to
KWALL2 : 7/1/2015 10:02 am : link
pass rushing situations. He's terrible vs the run. His role is part time pass rusher.

Odi will get a lot more playing time. Starter at DE and slide inside on some passing downs. Odi will be a much better player for the Giants. Starts in year 1.

The only thing that changes this is health. That's the only thing to stop Odi from being the starter very soon.
Put my vote in Wynn's box.
BlueLou : 7/1/2015 10:14 am : link
Spags will give PT wherever deserved, and I think Wynn is gonna impress Spags with his work ethic, raw talent and versatility. Spags loves guys on the DL thatt can go inside or out.
We know JPP and Hankins
Doomster : 7/1/2015 10:27 am : link
have to have big years, for this defense to have a chance, but we also need someone to produce from the other end spot....I think Moore will be that situational pass rusher on 3rd down....

I am not sold on Wynn, who flashed, at best, in a couple of games......Selvie and Ellis have to step up big....

What is it with the Giants drafting DE's with physical problems? Moore, OO, Osi, JPP, etc. Bad luck or taking chances?

What physical problems did JPP, Osi, and Moore have...
Klaatu : 7/1/2015 10:43 am : link
Prior to the draft?
I think it will all come down to health.......
Simms11 : 7/1/2015 10:47 am : link
Who will have more of an opportunity? Right now, Moore is really nothing more then a pass rusher and OO has the ability to both rush and stop the run. Obviously both are down on the depth chart, but if someone in front of them gets injured, it will be interesting to see which one gets the majority of those snaps.

Isn't that what you said about JPP, that he would start as a rookie? That didn't happen then, and I don't expect it to happen now with Odighizuwa.

He needs a pretty good amount of work on his pass-rushing techniques, so if he's starting at any given point this season, I'm guessing that it will be because of another injury-plagued year.

With some seasoning, and hoping that his hip problems are behind him, next year is much more likely to be his time.
I said JPP

would impact rookie year as at a min a situational pass rusher.. And they made a mistake not playing him more. They also had a stacked DL which is not the case right now.

A rookie DE has a much better shot at playing time on this team. There is NOTHING in front of Odi for that 2nd DE spot. Moore can't play the run. He is not a full time answer. Selvie sucks. It will be Odi vs Wynn for the starting job (unless they throw Jenkins at DE on early downs).

I think Odi wins it. He's head and shoulders better than Moore vs the run. It's not close here. This should get him on the field early. And give him more PT than Moore.

He's also very good as an inside rusher which really benefits us because Moore can come in and give an outside pass rush.

Odi starts and plays more than Moore. And produces more.

Odi
KWALL2 : 7/1/2015 12:29 pm : link
has pass rushing skills and he plays hard. He's explosive off the ball, long and very strong.

He will work on an outside rush a little. That's easy. He's already very good exploding back inside from an outside rush.

It will be hard to keep him off the field especially when you look at the rest of the talent at DE.
Moore is in year 3 and is 23 now
SGMen : 7/2/2015 1:36 am : link
raw and immature as a rookie but now in year3. I think he comes on and earns the starting job or at least plays on all pass downs and some others in rotation with Wynn.

If Jenkins makes the team it will be for his veteran leadership and versatility as a situational player.

Our DL will be a strength if BOTH Moore and Wynn are solid.
