Ellis talking to the Pacers about 3 for 32
Middleton to remain in Mil 5 for 70
Lopez 3 for 60 with the Nets
Thad Young 4 for 50 with the Nets

I'd really like Green.

ellis would be a great fit

have spoken to Corey Brewer
if we can

Somehow nab Monroe, Danny Green and Koufos I would be estatic. Probably would have to move Calderon to get it done but this would be a great offseason in my eyes

No kidding. The guy they dumped like a bad habit who showed to be fairly useful elsewhere?
If middleton gets 14 per, what are Danny Green, Afflalo etc
BeerFridge : 7/1/2015 8:22 am : link
gonna get? We may not have room for one of them and a big like Monroe.
I would assume they
TommyWiseau : 7/1/2015 8:24 am : link
Would cost less as Middleton is only 23 years old

RONNY BREWER WTF KNICKS?!!!!
I though Aminu might be a nice/cheap (i.e. 4mm per)

pickup. 7.5mm * 4 years from Portland is surprising

I'm not sure that's how it works.
Monroe
Deej : 7/1/2015 8:34 am : link
getting really excited about the possibility of adding him. His max contract is a steal given the contracts we're seeing. Hope he wants a 2+1 but I'd understand if it's just a 1+1.
Who knows how legit this is, but I'll post it anyways.

I thought the Jordan meeting....
Italianju : 7/1/2015 8:45 am : link
was today? And LA was tomorrow?

Based on age and need id really like to grab Green/Monroe. I have some concerns that Green looks better playing in SA, but he is a good defensive player and good shooter, those should translate anywhere.

The contracts are about as absurd as i was expecting them to be. We have been hearing (and saying) that the contracts would be absurd and here we are. I mean 7.5 for Aminu? 12.5 for Young? but again i think ive said take what you want to pay a guy and add 3-4 mill to it, and thats about right i guess.

Ugh..on Brewer unless he is coming cheap...
Italianju : 7/1/2015 8:48 am : link
he is a good defensive player who does nothing else well (and cant shoot). Again if he is cheap im all for it, but i bet he gets more then i want to pay.
There's no way Monta Ellis is a Phil Jackson player
Ten Ton Hammer : 7/1/2015 8:49 am : link
I'll only believe that at the press conference during the handshake.

Didnt we have him for about a half a second a couple years ago and released him for nothing?
yes, they traded for Brewer and then released him
Greg from LI : 7/1/2015 8:57 am : link
A quintessential Knicks move
They realized he could not shoot and got rid of him
Ten Ton Hammer : 7/1/2015 8:59 am : link
Why they didn't KNOW he could not shoot, I have no idea.

And I think he went to dallas and hit a game winner or something immediately after. Knicks.
since when was not being able to shoot a disqualifier for the Knicks?
Greg from LI : 7/1/2015 9:02 am : link
This is a team that employed Jared Jeffries on two separate occasions.

ESPN sources say Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard are nearing agreement on a five-year max extension with in excess of $120 million
You can find guys who can do what Brewer can do..
Italianju : 7/1/2015 9:03 am : link
for near the min, no reason to use cap space on him.
Why would anyone who's still under conract
aimrocky : 7/1/2015 9:11 am : link
sign a max deal this season, when the cap will go up next year? Security of having the money in hand?
I'm working in Indy right now

and it seems people have a much higher opinion of Ellis than most other people do. I guess they've lacked a shot creator for a number of years and have the defense to support his flaws in place.
Ellis is a great fit for them...
Italianju : 7/1/2015 9:14 am : link
like you said they have the defensive players to get away with him and they need a guy like him on offense.

To be fair to ellis, the past season appears to show that he's changed a bit from his mindless chucking days.
So Monroe should be done with meetings...
Italianju : 7/1/2015 9:19 am : link
today i guess. Already met with NY and MIL, meeting with LA and POR today i believe and BOS dropped out. Of course the Knicks wont want to do anything until after meeting Aldridge tomorrow i guess. Although i bet if Jordan wanted to sign today they would do it.
You would have to think if
nygiants16 : 7/1/2015 9:38 am : link
The Knicks are really going heavy after Beverly you would think they have a deal in place for Calderon....Which woul dbe great because then you can sign a max and still have almost 20 million to spend on the rest of the team..

I think he will be stretch provisioned. Would save 4.5 mil ins space this year and next, and the 3 mil he would count for the years moving forward would be against the much larger cap.
who would take/need calderon?

would be shocked to see them take that $ on given the contracts they will have to dole out this year.

Maybe LeBron wants him as Irving insurance? He can still hit some 3's. Swap the Heyward contract for Calderon!

Wishful thinking, though LeBron does like mediocre players that can drain the open 3 (e.g. Mike Miller)

They'll dole out the money if Lebron tells them to.

Wasn't there a rumor that they were interested in acquiring Splitter for the Heyward deal? I thought Splitter was making a lot more than Calderon.

Not that GM LeBron cares about the $$.

Maybe they want to add more shooters...who knows probably wont happen but that is one option especially for a team already over the salary cap...

Dan Gilbert is going to pay a penance
Jay in Saratoga : 7/1/2015 10:00 am : link
in luxury tax payments for the scathing letter he wrote when Lebron left for Miami. Lebron's 1-year opt out strategy for contract will ensure that he retains the power to force roster/contract decisions.

for millsap, wow. I feel like ive been pretty prepared for how absurd the contracts would be, but that is crazy. This is why Monroe is an absolute steal.

it's also why he might want a two year deal with an opt out.
Ellis is look at a 3 year $32 million
giantsfan44ab : 7/1/2015 10:15 am : link
from the Pacers. Kinda crazy that they'll be able to get him at what hes been getting paid the last few years. For as much flack he's received over the years, he was never really on a bad contract. He's just hit or miss from the 3 point line each game, you really don't know what he's going to give you there.
Dunleavy 3 years $14.4M
