Good post, Stu.

Phil has been discrete, but so far he's kept his promises. He said he wouldn't make the Stoudemire mistake of overpaying his fourth or fifth option, and I take him at his word.

Making moves like Baron Davis, mike bibby or Andrea bargnani so there's some solace in that. It's the little victories.

Agreed.. Better to be smart than trying to make a splash..
Oh and another thing I'm as guilty as anyone living of these writers

and their speculative tweets. However one thing I've learned since the summer of 2010 is that these guys no shit. They tweet all kinds of crap when the big guys visit teams but they speculate a different direction every few hours. I know its like searching for a drink in the desert and it's all we have but they really are mostly full of shit until its actually an announcement of an agreement. That having been said if we lose out to the Bucks for a guy like Monroe this re-build may take even longer than I thought lol.

It's so tough being a Knicks fan

it could be worse.

Imagine if Shump's shot off a rebound falling out of bounds at the buzzer in Game 1 had fallen.
The thing I have learned in free agency is this
blueblood : 7/1/2015 11:50 pm : link
its FREE agency.. The player is FREE to do whatever they want..

That was inspirational. Really needed to be said....

Landry, Stauskus, and Thompson on Philly "for a pursuit in free agency". Per Woj/Twitter.

Get for Philly there is Stauskus.

AND a protected first rounder AND the right to swap first rounders in two drafts.

Fuck. Philly is going to be absolutely sick. Imagine if they draft Ben Simmons next year.

if Ben Simmons was standing in front of you with his hog hanging out you wouldn't have any clue who he was.
the Kings are just an idiotic franchise

I don't know who is running things there, but their fans deserve better.

from Woj:

Most believed Ranadive had hired Divac in a ceremonial position, but the owner quickly decided to usurp general manager Pete D'Alessandro's authority to place Divac in charge.

D'Alessandro left the Kings for a front-office job with the Denver Nuggets two weeks ago. Around the draft, several front-office executives and player agents expressed frustration about dealing with Divac on instances involving the trading and drafting of players. Divac is largely unfamiliar with the collective bargaining and salary-cap rules, causing him to struggle with grasping the machinations of negotiating and completing deals.

can't make that up. That team is ridiculous, and apparently they want to add Rondo. Rondo/Cousins/Karl/Vlade/Vivek is a match made in heaven.
I used to feel bad for the Kings
giantsfan44ab : 7/2/2015 12:59 am : link
Now I'm starting to think they deserve this.
As crazy as yesterday was...
Italianju : 7/2/2015 6:58 am : link
today should be just as nuts since we should see the big name guys sign. Both Jordan and Aldridge finish up meetings today and at least jordan had been rumored to want to finish things up quickly. Monroe is probably waiting for Jordan and/or Aldridge to sign. Should be a big day for the Knicks to see if they have a real shot with Jordan and if not if they lock up Monroe. After the Lakers pitch got destroyed id be curious to see how the Knicks pitch is perceived.
there was some tweet that sited West

as saying the knicks rumors are not credible and he is looking to sign with a contender-

Today's Daily News has an article on FA Day #1 & in it talks to Melo at a Red Bulls game in NJ. "We haven't heard anything yet on the Knicks.I'm waiting for my phone to go off right now so I can hear some good news, but it's a waiting game. You see guys are signing up early right now and I think this free agency will be done in a short time" So why is he in NJ when other superstar(s) are completely involved in the recruiting process? Does Phil think he'd be a deterrent?

Is my kind of deal. I was against Afflalo if it was 12+ per year but this I can deal with even if it may be a one year rental

If you're scoring at home the Sixers have the following assets of value:

Embiid, Okafor (star potential)
Noel (all-star potential)
Stauskas, Saric (harder to project)
Covington, Hollis Thompson (cheap & signed for years)

Sixteen draft picks in the next four drafts, including eight 1st rounders and two "pick-swaps" (which increase the lottery odds)

Whether you agree with the premise of tanking or otherwise, the Sixers have are not half-assing this rebuild
Stauskas sucks

He's a 21 year old that was picked 8th in last year's draft..I'd say he at least has a chance to lead a productive career.
