A source told Sporting News at the opening of free agency that the Knicks have major interest in Beverley, and that the interest is mutual. The Knicks contacted Beverley shortly after free agency began.
Can't see the LA fit. Monroe and Randle? Jeez thats going to be bad on defense.

That's true too
More than any other NBA city, the beauty of Orlando is in the eye of he beholder.
The no state income tax is a big draw for any Florida team, but you're right. Unless you're a player with kids the allure of Orlando is kind of nil.
Eric, that's not what I was meaning to convey. I was saying it's interesting how mixed their free agent history has been, there's really no parallel to them. They are the organization who hasn't been able to retain the 2 best players they've ever had, yet they've also attracted guys like TMAC and Grant Hill who were both mega free agents at the time. Almost nabbed Duncan too.
That's true. I could understand Shaq leaving, but I never understood Howard leaving. I still don't get that one.
My read on Hawks taking Splitter ($8.5m) into cap room is bye-bye DeMarre Carroll.
Id rather carroll then Afflalo. I dont really know why, but i would, ha.
Can't they give Carroll more than any other team and go over the cap to keep him? I don't see how this impacts that.
That being said... I don't want him at that inflated price.
If Knicks can get DeMarre Carroll and Monroe it's not a bad haul for Phil. Told Carroll would hold meetings in Atlanta.
Lakers didn't make strong impression in Aldridge meeting, sources say. Spurs can close on him. LMA expected to make decision fairly soon.

When theres $40 million on the line, thats an "investment" level signing.
And could someone please explain how a Randle/Monroe frontcourt with Russell, old Kobe, and nick young would win more than 30 games? That would have to be the worst defensive team bar none next year.
I just thought the same thing...
Hawks lose DeMarre Carroll to the Toronto Raptors, I'm told, on a four-year, $60-Million deal. DeMarre himself announced via Twitter.
So even as prepared as i was for absurd deals im still finding them absurd. So is afflalo at 12 a good deal now????
DeMarre Carroll is now the highest paid player on an NBA team.
@royceyoung
The Rockets, Pelicans and Knicks have interest in unrestricted free agent Kendrick Perkins, according to a source.
And Houston.
Damn, we could get shut out on any real difference-makers.
So im thinking we have two scenarios for the Knicks:
1- Knicks pay market value for Monroe and Afflalo - Media says "Desperate knicks overpay as usual in quick fix attempt"
2 - Knicks stay smart and dont overpay and maybe sign smaller pieces - Media says "Knicks strike out, nobody wants to play for them"
Damn, we could get shut out on any real difference-makers.
I don't see the connection at all. Perkins is a vet minimum guy. The Knicks arent signing him to do anything but be a bench guy who rarely plays
Good teammate, I guess.
