My rant on Ellsbury:
Ellsbury has been sidelined for the last 1 1/2 + months with his injury. Fine I understand that players get hurt. I was just glad he did not tear anything. On Monday he started rehab games in Tampa. He served as the DH and went 0-3 (pinch hit for in the 8th) Fine a little rust is ok. Yesterday he was scratched from playing due to fatigue. FATIGUE??? Are you fucking kidding me??? How do you tire your self out running to first base twice (he k'd at one at bat)??? You did not even play the field. I mean come on!!!! You are gosh darn (excuse my language) professional player!!! One who's fitness and ability to run is a major part of your game?? And you get tired running to first base twice?? I know that a knee strain can be tough but first time out and you get tired??
Yet Girardi thinks he still might be activated on Friday but probably wont play for a few days due to stress that getting on and off a plane can place on your body.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) could still be activated on Friday even after sitting out Tuesday's rehab game because of fatigue.
Ok I am done you may all bash me now (and make them funny I need a good laugh this morning).
But it would be nice if the team could start rattling off some wins again. Or else we might be looking at a .500 record going into the all star break.
Maybe he's related to Jon Beason.
Felt a twing in his ribcage 2 nights ago and again last night. Say's he thinks he can play thru it batting lefty.Didn't he say last year after hurting his elbow that he could play thru it and decided to wait until after the season to have surgery. He then said in spring training that the elbow bothered him last season. I say put him on the DL and bring up Flores.I know he had a good month. However, Flores in the field would alone make up for the offense Beltran provided IMHO.

GOOD ONE!!!!!!
Went 4-4 with a 2B and BB last night. Hopefully his adjustment period is over!
My guess as to Dugas is that they think that if need be he can be DFA'ed should the need arise. Gamel you wouldn't want to DFA, he has more potential. Dugas is a great contact hitter and very patient (more BB's than K's over his MILB career) but he has zero pop and isn't especially fast. Gamel is faster and has more power potential, he could become an everyday player if everything goes right. Dugas will probably never be that guy.
Dugas likely will only play in an emergency situation, but bench was already short so they needed a body.

On Flores, if Beltran is DLed and Ellsbury has a setback, I bet you would see Flores on Friday.
Dugas may only be here for 24 hours.

"Money doesn't always equate to performance," Cashman acknowledged. "In fact, most of the time it will never equate. That's the cost of doing business. Signing a player to a long-term contract is like buying a car. They don't tend to get better with age, and the ones that do are probably cheating."
