My rant on Ellsbury:

Ellsbury has been sidelined for the last 1 1/2 + months with his injury. Fine I understand that players get hurt. I was just glad he did not tear anything. On Monday he started rehab games in Tampa. He served as the DH and went 0-3 (pinch hit for in the 8th) Fine a little rust is ok. Yesterday he was scratched from playing due to fatigue. FATIGUE??? Are you fucking kidding me??? How do you tire your self out running to first base twice (he k'd at one at bat)??? You did not even play the field. I mean come on!!!! You are gosh darn (excuse my language) professional player!!! One who's fitness and ability to run is a major part of your game?? And you get tired running to first base twice?? I know that a knee strain can be tough but first time out and you get tired??

Yet Girardi thinks he still might be activated on Friday but probably wont play for a few days due to stress that getting on and off a plane can place on your body.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Jacoby Ellsbury (knee) could still be activated on Friday even after sitting out Tuesday's rehab game because of fatigue.

Ok I am done you may all bash me now (and make them funny I need a good laugh this morning).

Nova pitched well last night...

one positive from that shit-show.
This shouldn't be surprising

It's the same story as when Ellsbury was in Boston and took forever to come back from fairly minor injuries. Just another reason to hate that signing.
The Yankees

suck...a waste of time watching them until major change to the organization happens.
I have to assume fatigue meant

that his knee felt a little weak maybe or that they're just playing it safe. Otherwise, I'm at a loss.

But it would be nice if the team could start rattling off some wins again. Or else we might be looking at a .500 record going into the all star break.
Whats Beltrans deal

i feel asleep right after they came out to check him ,Was it his ribs ?
Ellsbury has been hurt his entire career. He had one

healthy season, put up #s and the stupid Yankees overpaid. This is who he is. He starts healthy, plays well for a while, then goes from one nagging injury to another.

Maybe he's related to Jon Beason.
if you'd recall, this is why Ellsbury wasn't overly popular

in the clubhouse in Boston. Some of their guys thought he milked his injuries.

Felt a twing in his ribcage 2 nights ago and again last night. Say's he thinks he can play thru it batting lefty.Didn't he say last year after hurting his elbow that he could play thru it and decided to wait until after the season to have surgery. He then said in spring training that the elbow bothered him last season. I say put him on the DL and bring up Flores.I know he had a good month. However, Flores in the field would alone make up for the offense Beltran provided IMHO.

Not ribs...... Just the giant fork in his back.
Beltran to the DL, calling up Dugas from AA
Dunedin81 : 7/1/2015 11:19 am : link
Interesting. IDK why not Flores. I'd guess he was the best OF we could DFA if necessary.
well, this is what happens when most of the lineup is 30something

GOOD ONE!!!!!!
I know Judge is struggling to adjust to Scranton right now
Greg from LI : 7/1/2015 11:26 am : link
But I wonder if he gets the call if Beltran is out for an extended period of time.

Went 4-4 with a 2B and BB last night. Hopefully his adjustment period is over!
Why
mitch300 : 7/1/2015 12:05 pm : link
are they not giving Gamel a shot.
Judge isn't coming up for awhile...
Dunedin81 : 7/1/2015 12:13 pm : link
he needs to learn to control a AAA strike zone before he can start worrying about controlling a major league one. He is moving very quickly but he still needs his minor league reps.

My guess as to Dugas is that they think that if need be he can be DFA'ed should the need arise. Gamel you wouldn't want to DFA, he has more potential. Dugas is a great contact hitter and very patient (more BB's than K's over his MILB career) but he has zero pop and isn't especially fast. Gamel is faster and has more power potential, he could become an everyday player if everything goes right. Dugas will probably never be that guy.
Also Wilkerman Garcia is stateside and debuting in the GCL today...

whether Gomez or De Leon or Castillo or any of the other bonus babies moves up remains to be seen.
if Beltran ends up being out for two months, though
Greg from LI : 7/1/2015 12:17 pm : link
they're not going to keep Dugas up for that long.

Dugas likely will only play in an emergency situation, but bench was already short so they needed a body.

Andrew Marchand ‏@AndrewMarchand 36m36 minutes ago

On Flores, if Beltran is DLed and Ellsbury has a setback, I bet you would see Flores on Friday.

Dugas may only be here for 24 hours.

the NYY? Drew's XBHs are great... the problem is he gets 1 every 4-5 days and does nothing otherwise. Pirela was awful in June.

Not so great if he ignores his own words (or is forced to by his bosses).
In other news ...

it looks like Eric Jagielo is hurt yet again and could require season ending surgery on his knee. Must be something in the water, neither the Yankees or the Giants can remain healthy.
