The New York Giants No. 20 on ESPN’s NFL Future Rankings

Archer : 7/1/2015 5:53 pm
As per Big Blue Blitz;

Quote:
"ESPN dished the Giants out a 62.7 grade for their roster, a 74.7 grade for quarterback, a 63.3 grade on their draft, a 68.3 grade to the front office and a 67.3 grade to the coaching staff".

Quote:

"The Giants now rank between 20th and 22nd in every category but quarterback, where a bounce-back season from Eli Manning helped the team secure its only high ranking (10th overall, up from 11th in 2014)".

In addition ESPN has the Giants finishing third in the division behind Dallas and Philadelphia.

The only hope for success would seem for Eli and ODB to carry the team.

Seems Logical to Me

I don't figure on more than 7 wins at best so 20-22 is about what I was thinking. There's just too many questions and Dallas and Phil look strong. Have to hope for injuries to Dez or Romo and for something in Phil to happen that levels the field.
It doesn't matter where you start (even though 20 sounds about right).

It only matters where you finish. The Giants have tons of questions that need to be answered, but if they catch a break or two - especially on the injury front - they could easily see 10 wins.
They always base things off last year

They may be right but it's lazy and easy to just predict Dallas and philly as the east leaders. After all they were the leaders last year...

We'll see. I like where this team is at. More youth less aging vets running on empty.
Not really a ton of issues with any of this

This team hasn't been very talented for years. Injuries have hurt this is true, but it's time for young players to step up.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions

but I like our squad. Vereen provides much needed depth at WR, the O-Line should improve, the WRs are a fantastic group.

On the other side of the ball, the secondary should be pretty good. The line backers are solid if Beason stays healthy, and DeMontre Moore could turn the DL into a very good unit if he can produce.

This is a very capable football team. I think this is going to be our best (regular) season since 2008.
much needed depth at RB****

Well there it is ...

Nothing left to do now except cancel Sunday Ticket and start looking for new ways to spend my Sundays this Fall.
This is NFL football. No matter how logical, no matter how

much sense they make, the one thing you can count on is they are wrong. They might be better, they might be worse, but things will not happen as they see it.
Need the OL and defensive upgrades on paper

to be realized on the field, and that would quickly boost the roster grade.
Look at the Giant team that beat the Bills on wide right.
wgenesis123 : 7/1/2015 9:21 pm : link
No one expected them to start the season 10-0, I don't think anyone expected the 49ers to start 10-0 either. Once Phil Simms went down they stuck a fork in the Giants and said they were done. They were wrong again. The Bills were huge favorites to win the big game. They were wrong again. This is the NFL more often than not. Very rarely is it predictable. Only the very worse teams have been fairly predictable, and sometimes they defy logic too.
Those are some interesting metrics

I'm sure the methodology is stunning.
Anyone...

who is giving any credence to anything BSPN says about the NY Giants is just not paying attention.
Can't say I disagree about the FO and coach ratings

after these past few years. Time to pick it up this year or go the fuck home for good.
My only issue is philly being ranked ahead
bradshaw44 : 7/2/2015 12:38 am : link
They really do not have a QB. If Bradford can't stay healthy in a dome, how will a cold weather outdoor stadium help? And is there D really that much better than ours on paper?

losing Beatty negates our upgrades. We really have to hope Flowers is at the very least adequate else we are in big trouble.

cover their asses by going with your latest performance. We have missed the playoffs and been in a downward spiral since the SB win. This is what you can expect them to say until we improve on the field.

I love the Giants but they stole that NFC championship game from the 49ers.
