he deleted this almost immediately but i was cracking up. Also this guy had been talking shit for almost a whole week so it was somewhat deserved even though it only lasted about 2 minutes.
Essex's comment caught my eye though because I disagree that getting paid millions and being on TV on Sundays or whatever, imparts anything more on you than anyone else. I say that because with all these critical comments here, I've seen equally distasteful stuff from all of us at one time or another. From that perspective, some of the criticism seems excessive.
I didn't say the amount of money is the determinative factor, I said someone who gets paid to play in front of "millions of fans" needs to have thicker skin, when he gets a little back and forth from an idiot fan. It is not the amount of money he gets paid, it is the business he is in. It is the entertainment business and it seems he has lots of fun doing the "entertainment" part and should be able to handle this without resorting to an attack on someone's wife.

Still don't think the standard to which we hold him is different than the one to which we should also aspire.
by Weatherford. Not a big fan of a punter who loves to run his mouth.
How about a QB or WR or DE or any other position?
I liked it when Jacobs/Plax/Strahan talked trash. Just seems odd coming from a punter.
To be clear though, the comment from Weatherford would be low rent regardless of what position the guy who said it played for. Stuff like this makes Weatherford a hard guy to root for.
organization will get involved in this BS with players on twitter very shortly. Starting to het out of hand and reflect on the image when some get carried away.

I doubt it. I bet the players union won't let them as Twitter is an income stream for these guys
personal attack on someone then guess what - everything becomes free game. I'm not sympathetic to that guy or his wife, and I don't think simply being a wealthy professional athlete means that you have to sit there and take shit from anyone.

Everything is fair game if you are a classless loser. Apparently that's what Weatherford is, which is disappointing.
Fuckin Bullshit sports culture we're immersed in. It's all garbage.
This shit ain't sports. It's Glee.
What loser even follow athletes on Twitter?
I do...
Why?
Some are funny, some post interesting articles (particularly ex-players). I don't follow Weatherford because he posts nothing relevant. It takes two seconds to follow a guy and unless there's a reason to unfollow (like Weatherford, who I felt tweeted nonstop), I continue following. So, basically the reasons aren't good, admittedly.
"You know, George, the ocean called. They're running out of shrimp."
"Oh yeah, Riley? Well, the jerk store called. They're running out of you!"
"What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller."
"Well I slept with your wife!"

we certainly don't need another Feagles incident getting our punter blinsided on a punt return?! I know this rivalry doesn't need fuel, however the GIants better bring it this year. Last year's shutout on National TV was an abomination and embarrasment, the players should just shut up and, as TC says, let their play on the field speak for you!
I've never used twatter as I think it's lame, but this whole "fans are fans and athletes should know better it bullshit. Don't be a jackass and don't harass people. Simple as that.

I've never seen an NFL punter who is more of an attention whore.
Chris Kluwe?
Ha.. my post actually originally said "besides Chris Kluwe"
haha, well. . .

The real problem was pointed out above: he has ranged from poor-to-mediocre the last 3 years. He probsbly doesnt have the rope he thinks
Couldn't disagree more.

Classic. Thanks for the Seinfeld memory.
The only thing destroyed by weatherford's response is his own rep.
This. You're a punter - SFU and punt. He's becoming way too high-profile for an average punter.
I expect this shit from the Eagles' punter, not ours. Classless comment. Bring back Matt Dodge....OK,no, I take that back. Bring back Feagles.
