Now if S. Lee can also get nicked if but for the first game we'd be set to run the ball well on Dallas.
McClain was pretty good last year so he'll be missed by Dallas.
If we could just run the ball well and throw short accurately to keep the ball away from Dallas while scoring points on our side (even FG's) it will go a long way towards our winning opening day. I really want this team to start 3-0 with our offense leading the way along with our improved run defense.
Dallas took a gamble last year on a player who hadn't showed anything in years and retired multiple times and it finally clicked and payed off for them, similarly to how we tried to get Aaron curry the year before. Hopefully this leads to 0-4 for them but it wont.
where BBI's finest last year who used Dallas signing him as a great move and the Giants letting go of Will Hill as a bad move forget that suspensions are constantly looming for idiots with serial lapses in judgment.
to get suspended or hurt for us to have a chance to beat them.
I wouldn't say desperate but hey if someone is going to be hurt let if be the other guy. We've already lost Beatty and that hurts so McClain's suspension helps to balance things out. It is what it is.
Personally, I think we need to win game 1 on the road and come home and continue to win. An early season of winning will go a long way to carrying us to a playoff spot. Our OL will struggle without Beatty. Our defense will struggle early with youthful safeties and a new defense. We need some early season breaks.
If Sean Lee and McClain and Hardy and Dez were healthy on field
Of course you don't want to see anyone that plays clean ball get injured(exception for Dawkins back in the day). I also don't want any real off the field violence or drunk driving injuries. Barring those circumstances I say fuck 'em.
RE: If Sean Lee and McClain and Hardy and Dez were healthy on field
With a healthy OL(assuming they play together through preseason)a pretty good chance. Dallas isn't the greatest team to ever take the field and I'm thinking the Giants might just play well this tear.
You're right. The Cowboys only won 10 games last year and by being ever vigilant against pot smoking we won 7 and are going into this year with the worst safety tandem in the league. McClain will still play 12 games this year and have more tackles for the Cowboys than Hill has for the Giants.

I'll bet you a donut Hill is suspended in the next calendar year.
The argument that the possibility that a player may get another 4 game suspension and miss 4 games justifies cutting him and assuring he will miss 16 is just brilliant.
doesn't miss just 4 games the next time he's suspended, but nice try.
It is bizarre how many people treat the loss of Hill as the crushing death blow to the team.
I honestly believe if Hill "aka Knucklehead" had not smoked pot and gotten himself suspended yet again he'd have kept this secondary above water. We were KILLED over the middle of the field all season long.
Heck, if Will Hill, Prince and Thurmond had stayed alive for the whole year we may have contended for the playoffs. That despite the other poor areas of the team like DL and LB. It is a passing league and we had a secondary with little if any talent due to injuries, age (Rolle) and DRC being limited. Just sucks but alas that is the NFL.
PS: had Becham, Cruz and Schwarz been healthy all of last year we may have made the playoffs as well. The offense is completely different and dynamic with those 3 healthy the whole year.
RE: If Sean Lee and McClain and Hardy and Dez were healthy on field
If we are playing that game, do we get Beatty, a healthy Cruz and a healthy Beason for that game too? All teams have injuries and suspensions. Nobody took pity on us last year. I have no pity for the Cowboys either.
Hope not, but it's clearly announcement day for the league.
I don't know that we have any "bad or immature" seeds on this team right now? I mean, with the rookie class you never know because young people do what young people do but I think this team is a pretty mature one.
Praying we have no surprises. And if there are more surprises, let them be cowboys, Eagles or Skins!
RE: Kind of sad we're this desperate for Dallas players
Another one: Cowboys' Rolando McClain suspended four games for violating substance abuse policy, per NFL

probably will
can we count Jayron Hosely in the category? Because even when he's not suspended i can't rely on him.
He can appeal, but no way it takes 2+ months for it to be decided.
desperate is a poor choice of words.

Of course it all comes down to health.

Except nobody said that. Maybe you don't root for the Cowboys to fail, but many of us do.
