NFT: American Pharoah to run in the Haskell

Anyone going?

As I mentioned previously, we drove up to Hot Springs for the Arkansas Derby, so I got to see him run and win there. Also, we are going to the Breeders Cup this year at Keeneland (Lexington, KY) where he will run his last race in the Classic if all goes well.

If I lived in the NYC area, and had never seen him run, I would definitely make it out there, never know when you will get the chance to see a Triple Crown winner again.

the horse and owners had nothing to prove and everything to lose if something happens to him -- the stud fees this horse will command are mega enormous as things stand right now -- seems like an incredible risk to me to keep him racing

They must be lovers of the sport. Good for them, I know someone who knows the owner and claims he's not a nice person. This certainly contradicts that.

This horse still has one thing left to prove. That he is the best horse in the nation. 3 year old horses rarely are and horses that are 4-5 are better. Only 2 three year Olds have won the breeders cup classic.

And the owner retains the racing rights through the end of the year. As such, they have everything to gain by racing him in the Haskell and Breeder's Cup.
