As a retail store manager not the easiest thing in the world especially since I am already there every Saturday normally. My guys know I am very flexible with scheduling around them and they never complain about anything so I feel very fortunate for that. Not that I even really have anything super exciting going on today, but its just the principle of working on a holiday I can't stand.
I did work 23/25 Independance Days during my first responder days. Too many people take the 4th as an excuse to drink themselves into oblivion with no plan in place to ensure their safety. Please celebrate to your hearts content but either do so at home or have someone to "take care" of you when you lose your ability to care for yourself. There are far too many personal tragedies associated with this great day.
