Beason seems to be the name everyone brings up as the key to the defense and although our best point of attack LBer and playcaller....he is more then likely just a 2 down backer due to his liability in coverage.
And certainly JPP, Hankins and Prince are our best overall talent on D,
but my choice is Kennard. He needs to be our most desruptive player. I suspect will lead the team in tackles if he plays a full schedule. He is our best biltzer. Nothing official but I feel he will be our nickel MLB which has become the primary defense played.
Did we corner the market on 220+ lbs safeties and outside LBers? I sure hope they are fast enough or well positioned.

I know Eric feels Cruz is the key on O and now many can argue Flowers and without Eli why bother.....he is such a stable, reliable anchor we all take him for granted and he is poised for his best year ever. Vereen will prove if Eli is able to dump the ball to the backs effectivily, that is the one area he has never been comfortable.
But OBJ is who puts fear and must be accounted for by the D. If Cruz is limited, OBJ can handle the slot and move up Washington without too much of a set back. He loosenes up the defense for everyone.
How much attention will we put on the RT spot?

I absolutely love the D, Harris signing....he will have the biggest impact......instantly improves 4 weak areas: K, P, KR, and PR while weakening our top rival in 4 areas. I wonder how many will even notice

I wonder if what Thurman said has any legs? If there is anything that has always bugged me about Coughlin was how when he started, he demissed the past injuries, and now how it has become the albatross of this team.
Discuss?
If Cruz is healthy, why? What if in Week 7 he suffers some other injury? Being overly cautious makes no sense. If he's good to go, let him play.
Vereen was a HUGE signing cause we really needed this type of player in the WC offense. Eli will be looking Vereen's way early and often.
Anyway...one guy who's rarely mentioned when we're talking offense is Rashad Jennings. He was signed to be our featured back, as much for his receiving as his running, but he seems to be something of an afterthought now, especially in comparison with Shane Vereen. However, as long as he stays healthy, he'll most likely get the majority of carries. If anyone is going to suffer with Vereen on the team, I figure it's going to be Andre Williams, who may end up relegated to short-yardage duties only.
