Clearly, as witnessed by the amount of people coming to see it live in Coney Island, the large TV audience and, of course, the advertisers that make it a profitable show, there is plenty of interest.
But you do not find it of value. You do not find it worthy of airing on TV. You do not understand people other than yourself enjoying themselves in other ways than you can fathom.
That's not the sad part. The sad part is taking the effort to post something that belittles other people's enjoyment and considering yourself holier than thou. That's sad. Maybe saddest of all is me taking my time to respond to your sad post.
is that someone is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch otherwise, why would you care what other people waste their time watching on TV..
How many beefs were slaughtered and squished into hot dogs just to be rammed down Joey Chestnut's pie-hole in a couple of minutes? The starving children in China watching on Direct TV writing letters to Sally Struthers to do something to stop the madness
especially because its killing animals for our amusement, something we never fail to hate Michael Vick for.
I didn't realize that Michael Vick was eating the animals he killed. Regardless, wasn't he killing them not for amusement, but because they failed to amuse him with their prowess as fighters?

Yup. I'm sure that all of the hot dogs eaten by the contestants once a year would go a long way to solving the world's hunger problems. Forget the tons of grain that are allowed to rot because some people are petrified by GMOs. Forget the tons of corn that go into gas tanks instead of pots of boiling water. Forget the farmers who have no water to raise crops because smelts must be protected. It's all about those greedy, amusement-obsessed bastards at Nathan's.

And its sad because it reflects that there's enough people who will consider that entertaining to put it on a major network.
Absolutely. What we need is a new Federal Agency that can decide what is entertaining and what is not. Any network that does not comply should be shut down immediately.
