for some unknown reason doesn't want to let anyone get through an 8th inning and continues to put Betances out there for more than 3 outs and gets burned today.
Why couldn't Wilson pitch to Longoria? Longoria is a decent hitter, nothing more. You don't need to bring Betances in for 4 outs to face him
Longoria (along with Joey Bats) has hit more homers at Yankee Stadium the last 5 seasons than any other player (Yankees included.) Not verified though.

Your friend needs to lay off the crack.
Why is it always some piece of shit who gives the Yankees trouble?
John Phillips fucking Sousa.....I swear, if I were playing the Yankees I'd put my AAA team's lineup out there to maximize my chances. James Lonely is a rancid pile of festering garbage facing any other team, but he always kills the Yankees.

And Drew would have been long gone by now.
absolutely deserves to still be here. He's done a tremendous job with the hand he's been dealt. He has his quirks that drive me insane, but the positive far outweigh the negative.
That being said, George would have fired him a couple of different times by now. Death does strange things to people's legacies. People forget about the "bad" George and only remember the "good" George.
George was an absolute Maniac, but he was our Maniac and the Pinstripes meant everything, Drew would have been lambasted into being a solid hitter or so embarrassed he would have to take all the mirrors out of his house. But chances are he never let's "Cano a don't you know" go.
It was a great bunt by Flores, considering that the 1B and 3B were running in with the pitch. The ball didn't get all that far away from the second baseman covering 1st, and I thought Pirela would be out by 10 feet. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but on the last replay (Rays feed, at least) you could see that Young was standing on 2B with the SS right behind him as the throw went home: the entire left side of the infield was vacant. Fortunately it's all academic, but if Pirela had been out at home, Young's lack of awareness would have resulted in winning run on 2B instead of 3B.
Speaking of the Rays feed, I agree with the guys above--these are the worst announcers in all of sport.
The man did absolutely wonderful things for the franchise its very well documented, along with many no so great things.
But he had been in poor health for years and had not had anything to do with running the team for a very long time. George was a figurehead owner.
If he was still around now he would not be firing his staff or making any player moves, or issuing crazy press releases about his displeasure with the teams performance. He died 5 years ago and hadn't done any of that for at least the 5 years prior.
Most Yankee fans can agree we are by no means enamored by what his sons, Levine, or cashman have been running the team. But 90 year old GSIII wouldn't have anything to do with it. Sorry guys.
Your correct. However I think most fans just comment like myself that When George was in his prime guys like Drew would have been lambasted in the press if not DFA'D.

Talk about over thinking things.
I don't mind Dewayne Staats when I hear his voice it reminds me of the early 90s Yankee games on msg

Great hustle from Pirela

Cashman is the one that deserves to be canned.

RIP Boss
That we can definitely agree on!
