We went out to the scene of where the crash was and started picking up the debris. It's almost indescribable. It's not the kind of material I'd ever seen in my life, nor have I seen it since. There were various types of materials which I couldn't identify. There were little members that looked like they were made of wood, but it wasn't wood and it had some kind of writing or hieroglyphics that I couldn't decipher and nobody else could. It was flexible, but you couldn't break it and you couldn't burn it. Also, I found a piece of metal which was about the thickness of the foil in a pack of cigarettes. But the amazing part about it was you could put it on the ground, hit it with a sledge hammer and you couldn't even put a dent in it. That astounded me and I knew it was nothing from here. I was convinced it was not from anywhere on Earth and I'm still convinced of that. I had brought a counterintelligence man with me in a staff car plus a pickup truck. We got everything we could into that and I sent the agent back to the base. Then I filled up my car with stuff. By the time I got back home, my wife said, 'What happened to you? There's been a bunch of news reporters out here, wanting a picture of you.' And I said, 'For what?' And there had been a public relations officer with them. He said, 'From what happened, your husband will be very popular by tomorrow morning.' So that's how it all started. What amazed me most of all was the weightlessness of all this material -- it weighed nothing. I found one piece of metal -- supposedly metal -- which was about a foot wide and about two-and-a-half feet long. When I got back to the base, we [Marcel and several enlisted men] brought it all into a briefing room and set up a whole lot of tables there. One of the men said, 'Let me see if I can put some of those parts together, to see what the thing might have looked like.' He came back later and said [he tried but couldn't do it]. I consulted my CO [commanding officer], who said, 'You better fly the thing to Wright-Patterson Air Field [Ohio]. So, we loaded up the whole thing -- which was not a whole lot of material -- onto a B-29. We had only picked up one small fraction of what was out there. It was scattered over such an area about three-quarters of a mile long and several hundred feet wide. We'd been there all day, picking up the fragments. I asked my CO if it was a better idea to stop at Carswell [Air Force Base] at Fort Worth and consult General Ramey and he said, 'Yes, you better do that.' When I got to Fort Worth, I talked it over with the general, and he told me, 'Don't open your mouth to the press. Put some stuff on the floor and let them take a picture of it.' But I was careful not to put out anything with detail on it. So they took pictures, and one picture appeared in the papers. (See image below) Gen. Ramey told news reporters this was nothing but a crashed weather balloon, but I do know this: later on, Ramey wanted to cover his statement up, because he didn't know, himself, what it was. I went back to Roswell to resume my duties, but what they did at Carswell was to make a mock display with a battered weather balloon and they let the press take pictures of that. The whole thing was a cover-up to begin with and that was the last I heard of it. I know it was not a weather balloon and I'd swear it on the biggest bible. It wasn't a missile or any part of an aircraft that we know of. |

i disagree, his research is very compelling(have you ever looked at it?),as for the money part,i do not not think that has ever been his motivation.

Japan Airlines sighting always reminds me of the Isle Of Jersey sighting, don't remember the date though. I'm sure it's only a google away. Don't think think the UFO was a large as The Alaska sighting.

belgium wave very curious too.
malstrom AFB 1967.
in my view, the evidence is so overwhelming, the debunkers have nothing to refute it.
As an amateur astronomer I often look at the night sky. I've never once spotted anything that wasn't obviously a planet or a jet plane or even the ISS passing high above us.
The nearest Earth-like planet is 12 Light Years away. If they've come that far to our planet.....ya think they cruise around near the big population centers ??

The expected weak response when a conpiracy theory advocate is confronted with a detailed analysis.
I thought it was a pretty good response. Let's not forget, the Pope even acknowledged the possibility, as did Ronald Reagan.

Here's a few folks who's experiences I may believe carry a little truth. If you have the time, watch a few of the video interviews. I think that it's likely some of them aren't lying, but who knows.

Overwhelming if one is impressed by quantity, and ignores quality. And there is a standard for proof here, and I think it is interesting that most UFO advocates, including you by your admission, abandon it in favor faith, which is belief without proof.
We have an abundance of the worst type of evidence possible - eyewitness testimony despite the fact that the world is awash in cell phones with cameras.
Interest article I saw (will search for a link) that correlates the pace of reported UFOs with the growth in cell phone cameras. Cell phones up, UFOs down - my guess (and it is only that) is that it is getting more and more difficult to reasonably respond "no" to the question "did you get a picture".

Here is a hint - one side of the "debate" has incorporated new data into their thesis (for example, prior incorrect estimates of the distance of the stars in the region) - which is what science does, and one side has not.

Just curious. Do you have a science background? If so, does this stuff satisfy you? Eyewitness accounts of anything are notoriously weak of real proof of anything. Do you have any hard evidence of material from alien aircraft other than what is being held as part of an evil government cover up?
Just to be clear "Evil Government Coverup' are your words.

I agree with you on the lack of credible evidence via cell phone cameras etc. As a matter of fact, just to illustrate your point further, today on a UFO reporting site, a person submits an artist rendering of an object they claim to have witnessed outside of their window. Then the provide a picture of a military helicopter that flew over the same area soon after. I would have preferred to see the object, and a drawing of a helicopter.
Television documentaries also come up with 'startling new evidence' and then show blurry footage from 14 years ago, and then go a step further by traveling to the 'scene' to investigate.
I base my thoughts on the subject mainly on things that I have seen myself.
Named Later states that he is an amateur astronomer, and that's great. I have a casual interest, I do know what the ISS, and Iridium flares look like, although I'm sure others don't.
I also find many of more well known sightings/encounters fascinating. Many of the ones mentioned above, and a few others.
As far as the Betty Hill Starchart, that has been debunked, and reworked many times. I did recently read another take on it that was at the least entertaining.

I guess that's would be sort akin to someone hiding under their covers if aliens did come into their bedroom. Nothing would stop a technologically advanced species like a weave of cotton.
Here's one to help identify satellites & the ISS, Heavens Above, an excellent site.
