No sympathy for him at all? This makes me sick it really sucks. He always seemed like a dim bulb so I actually feel really bad about this.
Who knows how it happened it could have been something that wasn't his fault.
I definitely have sympathy for him. I've never understood the idea of not feeling bad for people who fuck up their lives by being stupid. If anything it's even worse for him mentally than if some tragic, unavoidable accident hurt him.

Yea my bad man...someone probably threw a cherry bomb at him and it someone went towards a child and he dove 10 feet and saved the child's life while catching it in his hands resulting in the injury. On the way to the hospital JPP saw another severely injured person in the same ambulance and gave him 3 pints of his already low blood supply, he saved the other mans life also.
who may never see the tens of millions of dollars that could've transformed their lives because their dipshit dad/grandpa/uncle couldn't resist playing with explosives.
May have had his hand blown off... I'm not the morality police, douchebag, but the first thing I thought of wasn't "what a fucking asshole he is" it was "shit I hope he's ok."

I think it goes without saying that all of us hope he's OK.
The Giants so nailed not giving him a longterm contract.
Since I was 10 years old. There is a right way to handle them. Then there is a cavalier immature way to do it too. You don't blow your hand off the first way.
That said I hope he's alright for his own sake. The Giants will obviously get up to date on his status asap and decide where we go from here.

It's a self inflicted wound caused by an astounding amount of stupidity. And that idiot decision to mess around with fireworks which caused him to hurt himself is going to impact a whole bunch of people in the organization along with the fans if he misses time or plays worse because of it. He's fine, he's going to survive. He's just a fucking idiot if this is true.
Another guy was killed on the fourth because a firework exploded after he tried to fire one off from his head. I don't think "Man, that sucks." I think "man, that's really fucking stupid." At some point, you lose sympathy for people when they make stupid decisions in life.
Funny because that's the first thing in my post. "I think he'll be OK" ....The situation is rather stupid, not life threatening but all joking aside, he'll get the aid he needs from the medical center... Ya gotta HAND it to him for his career with the Giants.
there'd be almost no "what a dumb asshole" sentiment, because Eli's got a rep for being smart. JPP does not have that rep. At best, JPP has a rep for being a bit of a goofball who doesn't take things as seriously as he should. Which is likely is what led him to what happened last night.

You feel bad for the non-existent grandchildren of a millionaire. Yep, I've heard everything now.
For some reason I don't think our medical staff is up to this

What's so crazy about that? This guy may have just pissed away close to $200 million. He let his whole family down - not to mention teammates. If this is a career-ended, it's one of the colossal fuck-ups in history.
I feel terrible for JPP. it is probably less of a risk than playing pick up basketball. So, I really don't want to hear it about his decision making. Obviously, many on here don't play with fireworks, nor do I, but tons of people do and most don't blow their hands off. I hope he gets better on a humanity level.
with his feet or something it becomes guaranteed and he'd have earned 33M in 6 years just from football - no marketing/endorsement, no playoff money, etc.
if someone makes 250k per year it would take them 120 years to earn that.
I'm not going to shed a tear for the lost wages of his entourage or future generations. I just hope he can play this year.

Enough of the pity. This guy is a first class fool.

I have no sympathy for grown people doing stupid shit. Give him an honorary Darwin award.

At least the strength and conditioning guy won't get blamed for this injury.

That's why I used the term "honorary"
Problem is, Jamie Lannister can't learn to fight one-handed. He's terrible at it.

We may have to seperate this thread into a book readers vs. non-readers thread.
I'm just hoping for the best.

If you think this is bad wait for those Taiwanese reenactment videos.
