Which Giants back has more fantasy value

superspynyg : 7/21/2015 11:45 am
Jennings or Vereen? Is it even close?
Depends on the scoring
jc in c-ville : 7/21/2015 11:48 am : link
ppr is Vereen though standard league I would go with him also as he will be the 3rd down back and I only see jennings as a between the 20's RB with Williams coming in at the goal line.
It will be tough to trust either

I don't see us establishing much of a run game so I think you will be dependent on receiving stats which can be flukey

I would probably draft Vareen over Jennings due to injury concerns

should say regardless of scoring...

I don't think either is a solid fantasy pick

They seem very likely to spread the RB touches around. I think Vereen is more likely to rack up yardage via the air. If the league has points per reception he has more value. I think he has slightly more value than Jennings, but not by a ton. I also agree with the notion that we see more of Williams in short yardage, which could mean the lion's share of rushing TDs.
Re: my comment about Williams

That may make him the most valuable of the 3. In Bettis' last year, for example, I picked him up after a few weeks. He was averaging about 2-3 carries a game, but also averaging about a TD a game. He was more valuable for the 6 points, than some middling backs that wouldn't crack 100 yards more than once or twice a season.
I think

Jennings is the best back of the bunch. Vareen is only a receiver not a good runner.
Jennings

I think he will get ball down at the goal line.
they are all good at different stages of your draft
UConn4523 : 7/21/2015 12:20 pm : link
simply saying X player isn't good isn't very good advice.

I haven't mocked or really don't much digging yet, but all 3 have value, likely in the order of Jennings, Vereen, Williams. The question is where do you take them as all 3 should absolutely be drafted if you are in 10 team leagues or greater.
my above is assuming PPR
UConn4523 : 7/21/2015 12:21 pm : link
in no PPR flip Williams and Vereen.
I say Vereen
Glover : 7/21/2015 12:31 pm : link
slightly higher than Jennings. I play PPR, so theres that. If I pick 8th or later in my 12 and or 14 team leagues, I will be taking Beckham in the 1st (unless Antonio Brown is available), I plan on taking Eli in the 6th, and Vereen as my 3rd RB, maybe 4th depending on how things shake out.
Jennings is sure to get injured again.

I would bank on Williams being the leading rusher again by seasons end.

I would not have any Giant backs on my roster.
I agree dont like NYG's this year
Carl in CT : 7/21/2015 1:57 pm : link
except I will keep ODB with my 14th round selection.

Again, it depends on when drafted. To say there's no value in a guy because he gets dinged isn't really good advice in regards to fantasy. Maybe you don't rely on him but Jennings in the 4th round or later can be an absolute steal.

We aren't talking about 1st round picks here, each guy has value and should be drafted in all leagues that aren't 8 teams. Any guy you get after the 4th round has either an injury history or in a time share. Probably even sooner than the 4th round if I go back and look at some early rankings.
I think it's
King Quis : 7/21/2015 2:38 pm : link
between Vereen and Williams. Williams will be more Valuable at the end of the season if the line holds. You'd have to think he should see very little safety help in the box considering our passing attack.
Good Job Carl

Me too, lose last pick of the draft & my team last had awful luck on head to head and finished last. I have never done that before but that year is over and now I will pick Le'veon Bell. Sweet.
Jennings was a top 6-7 RB
SimpleMan : 7/21/2015 3:40 pm : link
last year until he got hurt. He was not some huge point scorer, but he was consistent. He will be the starter, and Im guessing will get in the 12-15 carries per game range. He is also good to catch a few passes here and there. Obviously Vereen will be the 3rd down guy and Williams will also see some touches, butI think Jennings can be a flex starter in most leagues. I would also try and get Williams in the later rounds in case Jennings gets dinged up again.
