NFT: Parking at Gillette Stadium -- Help!

CT Charlie : 7/24/2015 8:40 pm
I'm driving my daughter to Foxboro for, yes, a Taylor Swift concert tomorrow night (Saturday 7/25). As I've never been there, and I'll have a 3-hour drive home, I'm looking for advice about the best approach and the best parking lots for a quick getaway.

For what it's worth, I'll be coming along the Mass Pike from the west, so I'll be probably be arriving via Mass Pike -495 south-Rt. 1 north. I've looked at the website, but it's not too helpful.
if you park in the stadium

lots there is no easy way out, it's one lane on rte 1 - changing direction if the concert is starting or ending.

if you stay in one of the lots along route 1 you might be better off, but it's like a couple mile walk to the stadium.

basically you're forked. My wife was going to take my little one, but luckily we had a conflict.
Good luck! Maybe I'll see you there.

I'll be the guy in the Bass Pro Shop and CBS Scene bar in Patriot Place while my daughter and her friend rock out to Tay-Tay.

Sorry I have no clue about the parking. Only been there once and don't recall much about the parking. Just be prepared, I believe its $40 cash to park in the lots there.
2 options

1) Park in the main lot/mall, walk a half mile and wait 2 hours in traffic to get out.

2) Park 2 miles away in the remote lots and have about a 20 minute traffic jam getting out while you're pouring sweat from walking 2 miles each way.

Either way, a nightmare. The place fucking sucks.
Oh and

If your seats are high, get ready to have to walk uphill in the concourses for 20 minutes to get to the top. There aren't any escalators. Just like 2 elevators in the whole stadium.
Not too bad.. sorry long

Only visit to Gillette was a Springsteen concert 3? summers ago. I dreaded the parking but thought it turned out ok. Suggest you stay out of the lots - traffic didn't move. We ended up driving toward the stadium on southbound 1, we're near danbury. Pulled into Hess to get gas and realized everyone walking toward the stadium. Parked next door at Eastern Pearl Chinese restaurant. Google maps has it at 1 mile or 18 minute walk. Everyone is selling their parking spots for the event. Rate was like $30 and comp to everyone else. Distance to stadium wasn't bad and walk out will go quick after adrenaline of show. Leaving was a breeze as they set up cones and reverse traffic. So you drive away from stadium on Rt 1 south. Have fun. Get there early & you'll miss the in bound traffic. Let me know how you make out. Thought of taking my 9 year old grand daughter, but missed the sale. Let me now what they were scalping for & make sure you wear a Giants shirt :).

I was at that Bruce concert, I had my Giants shirt on (the GMEN Strahan shirt) and when he sang Wrecking Ball and the line

"Now my home's here in these Meadowlands, where mosquitoes grow big as airplanes
Here where the blood is spilled, the arena's filled, and Giants played the games."

the place was booing and heckling me - it was awesome. Got to see jungleland live which was awesome too
Thank you for all your advice.

We parked at a private lot where we were charged $20 instead of the official $40. The walk to the stadium was about a mile. Exit was slow but not horrific.

Then, 50 miles from home at 2:00 a.m., we developed car trouble on the Mass. Pike. Luckily we were able to pull into a rest area -- just as the engine began billowing smoke and eventually fire. The engine and front end are burned to a crisp, but we're fine. We had to rent a car from the tow-truck company and eventually reached home at 6:00 a.m.

To the USMNT game there a few weeks back. Stadium only had 46,000 people and the traffic was worse than Giants stadium. I parked in a lot but I think I went too close to the stadium and the lot was enormous so it took just as much time to get out of the lot as it did to get through the traffic on Route 1.

Glad it went okay for you. I cant imagine what its like when the stadium is sold out.
T. Swift kept saying that the attendance was 60,000.

I couldn't judge it, but of course much of the field was shoulder-to-shoulder. The attendance figures at Foxboro for her last tour were over 55,000.
