They did pretty well in the World Cup. Beat powers Germany and Netherlands in friendlies. Then, they stink it up in this tournament against the likes of Panama and Jamaica. And, they weren't all that impressive in the group play either.
Is it the coach? I don't really know.
I do know that they need a better player than Bradley to run the central midfield. He's not all that great and he was just plain lousy in this game.
our center backs are horrible. They had no cohesiveness. Didn't seem to care about winning. The only guys I saw actually trying were the 3 subs and Johannson. This was sad to watch. JK will stay for the playoff game but you can bet your life he will be out if they lose that game. We need the confederations cup. What has happened to Bradley? He seems very off form from how he was just a couple months ago.

He also is the best defensive holding mf the US has ever had when he plays that position. The defense is the problem. Center backs are awful. Alvarado should never see playing time in meaningful games again. Not sure what it is...I'm thinking maybe it is the fact that he wants left and right backs to play offensive. Fabian Johnson or Chandler or Yedlin - all can play offensively. However, maybe that is resulting in a lack of support defensively? That said, whatever it is...it is resulting in poor defensive play. The first goal was garbage and a lack of physical center back play. The second goal is on Guzan. BTW, did you know, his rushed throw was cut off by a Jamaican player. Why the rush there if you are going to do that?
