At this stage in his career I think Granderson at CF
steve in ky : 7/26/2015 1:45 pm : link
Would be a big mistake and not playing into the teams strength (pitching) at all.
Ok lets end this fuckers streak now
Giants4246 : 7/26/2015 1:45 pm : link
.
Whooo!
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 1:45 pm : link
Lets get some runs boys!
Fuck. Come on.
arcarsenal : 7/26/2015 1:46 pm : link
We can't not get this run home
Right, but can they pencil Lagares in as an every day CF'er next year?
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 1:47 pm : link
Especially with the elbow? To me that's a possible hedge against both problems - Granderson regressing due to age (which would be a negative in RF also) and the uncertainty around Lagares.

Bruce is also considered a very good RF'er, correct?
He's safe!
arcarsenal : 7/26/2015 1:47 pm : link

Fuck your streak
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 1:47 pm : link

doing deGrom and Greinke things.

This game very well may come down to who doesn't make key mistakes. Hopefully the guys keep their heads in the game and don't make any errors, both physical and mental.

And there it is, and error and the lead
safe
chris r : 7/26/2015 1:48 pm : link

Niewenhuis looked like he slowed up halfway down the line
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 1:48 pm : link
but either way this is a huge opportunity with the top of the lineup coming up. Keep adding on.
Degrom with the RBI
Giants4246 : 7/26/2015 1:48 pm : link
Nice base running by kirk
Pederson owes Greinke a meal at Mendy's.
arcarsenal : 7/26/2015 1:49 pm : link

damn unlucky for Grandy - that was a rope
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 1:50 pm : link
lets go Ruben #teamtejada
nice baserunning plaw
chris r : 7/26/2015 1:51 pm : link
ugh.
Plawecki is an idiot

Plawecki
steve in ky : 7/26/2015 1:53 pm : link
He has to keep his head in the game. Running us out of the inning like that may cost us the game against this pitcher.
bad mistake with Murphy coming up
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 1:54 pm : link
oh well, got one and JdG is on the mound. Off day tomorrow, can manage this one is like a playoff game.
stay aggressive Sandy

Marc Carig ‏@MarcCarig
Heard Mets still pursuing bats. For instance, they still have interest in Parra, even after deal w/Brewers fell through earlier this week.
Never know what would have happened
steve in ky : 7/26/2015 2:03 pm : link
but if Murph gets that hit last inning another run scores
Damn that was nuts

And if Pederson doesn't flub the ball in CF, does Kirk make it home on Granderson's liner to Puig?
Duda K's again on a fastball right down the middle
Giants4246 : 7/26/2015 2:06 pm : link
105 K's, 4th in the NL

Great! Id still love Parra. I guess you DFA Kirk, but Parra at the top of the lineup and moving Granderson's power into the middle of the lineup would be a nice upgrade.

I don't concern myself with the opposing teams errors, I enjoy them (grin).

Peter Botte @PeterBotte
Pedro used to dance around Mets clubhouse naked in a Yoda mask and boxing gloves. Guess that's not happening for the induction ceremony.

Yeah, fit-wise I really think Parra makes the most sense.

I really, really want Cespedes or Bruce it just makes the alignments a little funky but I am guessing the Mets would have a plan for that.
I want 1 of Parra, Bruce, Gomez, Cespedes, Reddick, Tulo, Upton
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 2:17 pm : link
I consider those guys to all be potential impact guys. With Kelly Johnson & Conforto in the fold, Byrd/Veneble/Rayburn wouldn't be that big of an upgrade at this point.

Joel Sherman reports Mets now more interested in trading for setup man than bat. Remember, Jenrry Mejia ineligible for postseason.

K-Rod would make a lot of sense.

They need to train Robles to take over Mejia's role. They have enough good pitching to not have to trade for a reliever.
if Blevins is out, they'd need a lefty
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 2:19 pm : link
or someone good enough to give them a 2nd option to go with Parnell.
I like
spike : 7/26/2015 2:21 pm : link
Gilmartin and Goedel.
Maybe Matz is your second LOOGY lol
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 2:23 pm : link
Gut feeling but assuming Niese finishes the season strong, I think the playoff rotation would be Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard, Niese with math in the pen.

Or if Syndergaard hits his innings limits maybe its Harvey, deGrom, Matz, and Niese with Syndergaard in the pen. Either way we could have a NASTY option back there.
I like Gilmartin as the 2nd lefty, since he's started getting more
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 2:24 pm : link
late inning work he's shown a few cracks (to be expected for a young guy). Goedel is a righty with normal splits and he's still hurt.
Horrible AB by plawecki
Giants4246 : 7/26/2015 2:24 pm : link

Kirk hasn't made an out in days.

I think Matz or Thor will be in the BP during the post season so I agree. That's why bat is still higher on the priority list to me.
Still hopeful on
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 2:26 pm : link
Blevins coming back by October 1st. Think he's getting re-evaluated this week. Guess we'll find out more.
Yeah and even if Im wrong
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 2:28 pm : link
And you really do roll out Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard, Matz...

Niese can't be an effective LOOGY? Im sure we would be covered either way.
Come on Pirates
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 2:30 pm : link
Up 2-1.
Wow that was a near fucking disaster
Giants4246 : 7/26/2015 2:33 pm : link
Holy shit
2 games in a row.
Ira : 7/26/2015 2:34 pm : link
It looks like Conforto needs to learn how to communicate with his teammates in the field.

ball beat him, but grandy almost got under it. Massive AB for Duda here. Would be great to at least get Greinke's pitch count up.
