has to go 9 innings today. Keep the BP out of this
Damn.
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 2:50 pm : link
Kirk finally records an out. lol

Come on. 2-0.

Sure would be nice if Familia can get a 4 or 5 out save today.... oh wait.
Conforto could have gotten out of the way.
Ira : 7/26/2015 2:51 pm : link
He's a smart player - especially for a rookie.

Terry collins will find a way to get the pen involved.
Nice catch kirk

Might be asking a lot for him to get 7 more outs at 91 pitches...

Yea that was my initial thought also, he didn't make much of an effort to get out of the way. Oh well, its an rbi so its all good.
He should get
spike : 7/26/2015 2:59 pm : link
one more inning. This one is far from over
Puig with the massive HR cut
Giants4246 : 7/26/2015 3:00 pm : link
And he K's again
DeGrom is batting 2nd

so I guess his day is done
96 pitches
Mike in NY : 7/26/2015 3:01 pm : link
I try to get him through 8 with someone warning up just in case
Id rather
Eli owns all : 7/26/2015 3:01 pm : link
bat DeGrom 2nd and have him go 1 more inning than pinch hit for him
I wonder if a team
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 3:07 pm : link
ever, in the history of baseball, has ever had as many young, cheap controllable, aces at once as we do.
As

Sorry...
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 3:09 pm : link
I take deGrom, Harvey, Syndergaard, Matz over that.

Im starting to think deGrom is the best pitcher in baseball. lol
Oh
Eli owns all : 7/26/2015 3:10 pm : link
no doubt so would I but that's the last homegrown talent i can think of.
I'd try to get deGrom through 8 and then go to Jeurys.

Yup. I guess some of the early Braves teams too even though Smoltz himself has said they paled in comparison to what we have working talent wise.

Its just so damn exciting. I want to get my foot in the door this year.

That Collins does not make one of his pitching screw ups!
Like bringing in Torres...
Is Familia
spike : 7/26/2015 3:17 pm : link
available for a 5 out save?
Do not use Parnell
Rflairr : 7/26/2015 3:18 pm : link
Against this lineup
yes
Eli owns all : 7/26/2015 3:18 pm : link
we have tomorrow off
deGrom should get one
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 3:18 pm : link
more batter. If he gets on go straight to Familia.
this is why

Familia threw 9 pitches yesterday.

He's fine to go today.
Familia
Mike in NY : 7/26/2015 3:21 pm : link
Had an easy inning yesterday. He can get extra outs today
I woulda
Eli owns all : 7/26/2015 3:21 pm : link
let DeGrom still go. ugh
Do not
spike : 7/26/2015 3:21 pm : link
pitch to Joc Pederson
Cueto trade is interesting
Eric on Li : 7/26/2015 3:22 pm : link
Seems like another example of a rental moving without any true blue chip prospects involved. Finnegan is a recent 1st round pick who has the highest current ranking of anyone involved, being on most pre-15 top 100 lists and topping out at #55 overall. Lamb was the #11 overall prospect in 2011 but seems to have fallen off since. Reed was a 2013 2nd round pick.
deGrom just
ZGiants98 : 7/26/2015 3:22 pm : link
out-dueled Greinke facing a much tougher lineup. Yeah.

At 113 pitches and more balls this inning you go to the bullpen

Or maybe having not pitched since Tuesday using him in an easy inning yesterday didn't allow him to get stale to where he would be less effective today when he needs to be sharp.
Hudson
pjcas18 : 7/26/2015 3:24 pm : link
Mulder, and Zito were all sub-25, in the playoffs and all came up from the A's, that's impressive.

1997 Braves with Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Neagle, and Millwood was maybe the best rotation in recent history.

Neagle won 20 games that year.

Cueto of the Reds
spike : 7/26/2015 3:24 pm : link
traded to KC for 3 prospects
Big out.

Ok well first. None of those A's pitchers ever really had the reputation of "best in the game" type of stature like deGrom is approaching now and Harvey did in 2013. Second. Neale was a free agent addition after playing with the Twins and other teams earlier in his career. Not really the same thing.
