Royals did pay a decent haul for him. Would you want to include Judge in a package?
Mike, I know you are great with Mets prospects

can you give a comparison of similar Mets players for the Cueto package? Is it something like Fulmer, Montero, Robles?

Obviously the Mets don't need a pitcher, but presumably a similar package might be able to get one of the hitters they're after.

yup.

Tanaka, Pineda, Cueto... that would be something with Betances and Miller late...

Nimmo or Matz, Fulmer and Gsellman I would say the deal was more akin to.
how are nimmo and matz
CMicks3110 : 7/26/2015 3:59 pm : link
similar in any way?
value wise
CMicks3110 : 7/26/2015 4:00 pm : link
Matz is much, much more valuable
Nice move

KC

Good to see
no way I would have wanted the Yankees to move that much for Cueto

Lamb, Finnegan and Reed is a legit haul for a rental with elbow issues. The Royals had to make this deal and what they gave up to get it done makes that very clear.

Finnegan was their top pitching prospect who already showed what he is capable of as a rookie last year.

Lamb is LHP with a 2.67 ERA in 17 starts in AAA this season with over a K per inning. He's 25 and appears to have moved past some injuries that cost him develop time.

Reed was their second round pick in 2013, another LHP and he is currently pitching well at AA.

Cueto has to put the Royals in the WS for that haul.
Damn

Exactly what a Twins fan didn't want to see
Deals for pitchers rarely pay big dividends to the buyers
