Who is Jon Heyman, who is Pedro, what is the plaque, if this pertains to a sport, what sport are we talking about? Thanks.
Heyman is one of baseball's top media personalities

Thanks giants ... what is this plaque and what is the inscription. I have heard of Pedro Martinez so I believe we're talking about baseball. I would be very embarrassed if I am wrong

Heyman was one of baseball's top media personalities, so of course we're talking about baseball.
the discussion is about Pedro's hall of fame plaque

and the inscription on said plaque.

He was such a fun pitcher to watch. All his starts were like

2013 Harvey Days.
even in an era with other pitching giants like Maddux and Johnson

Pedro stands alone, IMO. He was the most dominant pitcher I've ever seen, and I doubt I'll ever see his equal for the rest of my life. His 2000 season would be amazing in any era, but to put up those numbers in the AL East of that era? Batters facing him in 2000 posted a triple slash of .167/.213/.259. The entire league hit like a pitcher against him.

And he might have actually pitched a bit better in 1999, but just had better luck in 2000. His BAbip against in 1999 was .325, way over his career average of .282, and in 2000 it was much lower than usual (.237).
